Kelly's April Projects

Hello there, Blue Fern fans :)
Kelly here today. I have a long post...three layouts today, so I'll get right to it!!

"So Sweet"

For this one, I went back to one of my all time favorite pieces of BFS chipboard...the Floral Clock
I covered this piece with embossing ink, then sprinkled three different embossing enamels..gold, ivory, and copper for a variety of color and texture. For the clock center I added another clock embellishment and clock hands.

Tucked into the bottom of this cluster is another "older" favorite, the Ornate Medallions. This one was also given a coating of copper embossing enamel.

"Perfect Moment"

I chose to use the gorgeous Blue Fern Garden papers for this one, as the colors worked perfectly with my photos - I love when that happens!

I started with the "Boudoir" paper, and layered strips from other Garden papers.  Over the paper strips, I added  two of the Jeweled Page Dangles, which were embossed with a light pink embossing enamel. I also have used one of the Flourish Hearts, which I cut apart and tucked the heart half, and the flourish half on either side of my photos.

"I Love You So"

For this one, I fussy cut the beautiful rose and bird cage motifs from the Blue Fern Garden papers, and placed them strategically on my page.  Below I have used one of the Memory Frames, simply painted white.

I added one of the Grande Cages, which was first painted white, then given a brushing of chalk ink.

The small flower border piece below is the "cut out" from one of the Floral Hearts. Once again, I just painted it white to make it really stand out!

A layout and a card with Camilla

Hello!

I have some new Blue Fern Studios projects to share - a layout and a card.

The papers are of course from the Blue Fern Garden collection. I have used some tearing both up and down. And then I have used some misting and some masking. The chipboards - The Lattice Fence and the Village Sign Post - are just dabbed with some gesso and some Inka Gold.

Some close-ups of the chipboards and the background:

And then...the card. The base is made with Blue Fern Garden papers and then I added just a few embellies. The Grande Cage is covered in blue embossing powder.

A close-up of the cage:

I hope you enjoyed my projects!

Some Blue Fern Garden Projects with Rae

Hello! It's Rae with you to share some more projects I have made using more of the Blue Fern Garden papers. They are so beautiful and I am down to scraps now, but I have had such a fun time working with this beyond gorgeous collection!

"Perfect" Layout

I'm trying to use up every part of each piece of paper, so I used this "Boudoir" piece that I cut an oval out of already for another layout, and went from there for this layout. The back has some green cardstock and the "Love Letters" paper that I fussy cut the lattice out of.

Here's a closeup of the berry stems that I used as part of my floral cluster:

Primed with gesso, and then sprayed with some green gold mist, I then added some archival ink in black to these "berry stems", then added some Liquid Pearls in black for accents.

This is a close up of the "sweetheart dressform" that I treated with gold Ferro, then sprinkled black embossing powder over while still wet, and dried with a heat gun to get this distressed effect.

"Follow Your Heart" Card

Another project I made using the Blue Fern Garden scraps.

The bird is from the "little birds set." I just used black chalk ink on him. :)

The frame is from the "petite boutique frames set" that I primed with gesso, sprayed with patina mist in random spots, then used some gold embossing powder.

The scrolls under the flower are pieces I cut from the "large royal border." I painted it with dark olive paint, then added some bright green microbeads.

"Good Things Jar" Altered Project

And, lastly, here is an altered project I made using a mason jar. I've made a few of these, and I give them to friends as gifts. I saw this idea on Pinterest: keep a mason jar handy and when something good happens, write it down on a piece of paper, fold it up, and throw it in the jar. At the end of the year, take all of the pieces out and read all of the good things that have happened for that year. In the pin, the mason jar is plain, but it's much better to have an altered jar on the counter!

The jar is covered with a piece of "In Bloom" paper that I stamped and distressed. The little flag is from the bottom strip of one of the papers.

The bird cage is from the "grande cages set." I covered it with Perfect Pearls in heirloom gold, which gives it a perfect finish- not to shiny! I added pearl strips and accented the butterfly with Smooch inks.

Here's the back:

Thanks for taking the time to look at my projects today!

3 Feminine projects by Evgenia Petzer

Hello wonderful scrappy friends! its Evgenia Petzer with you today, its my first post over Blue Fern Studios blog and i am so excited to join this amaizng team of ladies. I really love chipboard and the BFS designs are so close to my feminine style.

I will start by introducing myself: I am 29 years old, born and raised in Russia, but now we live in sunny South Africa, thats the native country of my husband. We have a 5 year old son and another boy we are expecting in about 2 months time. We also have a cute little yorkie and a ginger cat. I have been so lucky to design for some great manufacturers and to give lots of scrapbooking classes in Russia and here in South Africa.

I will start today with a handmade notebook/journal in a fabric cover. I love this tiffany shade of aqua now...
BFS Products used: Symphony border, Vintage Locks

Both of chipboards used here i covered with craft acrylic paint and on the symphony border i applied glossy accent afterwords, it hepls to "melt" these two colors together.

The pages inside are handdied in some tea and coffee for more vintage look.

Next is the shabby chic card:

BFS products used: Grande Cages, Leafy page accents

Both of chipboard pieces are embossed with a Zing powder, and the cage is sprinkled in between with microbeads

my parents will have soon their 30th wedding anniversary and I amde this card for them
BFS products used: Symphony corners medium, Leafy page accents

Both of the chipboards I embossed with Zing powders, mixing 2 colors on each chipboard piece.

Thank you so much for your visit! Hope you enjoyed my projects:)

A layout and a tag with Camilla

Hi everybody! I am Camilla Ekman and I am so happy to be a returning design team member here at Blue Fern Studios! Yay! And guess what...I have some new Blue Fern Studios projects to share.

First I have made a baby layout using two of the Spring Branch and one of the Grande Cages. These chipboards I have painted with white gesso and then stamped with embossing ink and then added golden embossing powder.

This is what the chipboards look like close up:

My second project is a small tag to give away. For my tag I have used the True Love title from the 2 Hearts Set, a heart from the Heart Set and two Ornate Medallions. The heart and the title are just painted in white gesso and I have added a few pearls to the heart. The Ornate Medallions are painted in white and then stamped on with black ink and covered with glossy accents.

Make sure to check back the day after tomorrow to get some more inspiration from the design team!
