Hello there, Blue Fern fans!
Thanks for stopping by today! Kelly here, and I have two layouts to share with you.
For this first one, I have used the brand new, and oh so gorgeous Blue Fern Garden papers.
"Perfect Moment"
I started with the "Boudoir" paper for my background. The paper is a nice, heavy, weight, so it "took" my mixed media work well. I applied some masking, and embossing, some watercolor paints and Gelatos, finished off with stamping.
Next, I cut squares, and tore strips, from the "Calling Cards" paper, to layer across my background and behind my photo. I also fussy cut some of the beautiful floral motifs from the "Picnic" and "In Bloom" papers.
I chose to use just one piece of chipboard on this one, the Rose Bouquet. This piece is intricate and stunning, and I think really "makes" the layout. I embossed it with a white detail powder, then used pink and green acrylic paint, along with a bit of metallic Gelatos. I then cut the piece in two so I could have it popping out on both sides of my photo.

"Treasure the Moment"
This one is a little more on the grungy side, with photos of my girls from the same day as the layout above. In this one, they are just goofing off and I had so many great photos I decided to make a collage.
After layering strips of papers, washi tapes, and trims in my background, I decided to add a couple of the Film Strips. I left these mostly natural, with just a touch of dark brown chalk ink around the edges.
I used the Treasure the Moment title piece, which I embossed with a chunky black powder, but didn't really like the look, so I covered the entire thing in Distress Paint, and just lightly rubbed some of it away to reveal the bumpy texture from the embossing. I inked around the edges lightly with the same chalk ink I used on the Film Strips.
