Merry Christmas for My Last Post- By Keren Tamir

Hi Everyone,
Its Keren here for the Blue Fern Studios blog for the last time.
After 3 amazing years being on the Blue Fern Studios Design Team it is time for me to say goodbye.
It was wonderful to be part of the team for so long and use their wonderful products.
I'm very grateful to have had this opportunity!!!

Here are my projects for this post!!

"Scandinavian Winter"

I created this 5x7 canvas depicting a scandinavian winter.

I used the Tree Trimmings paper from Vintage Christmas 2 collection for the background.
I embossed 2 of the Winter Village chipboard pieces and a snowflake with Icicle embossing powder and then added some gold glitter on it.
Once I glued everything I added some snow paste to enhance the winter feel.

"Winter"

I created this wintery layout using a picture of myself from a few winters ago.
I used the  back of the Holiday Cards paper from the Vintage Christmas 2 for the background.

I used the large chipboard flake to frame my photo. I cut the inside of the flake so I would have a space in the middle to frame my photo. Then I embossed it with Sea Mist embossing powder.

I used some shabby flakes and winter flakes to embellish around the frame. I embossed them along with the Winter title with Snow embossing powder.
I also added some snow paste to enhance the wintery feel.

 "Chritmas Cards"

Finally I created 3 Christmas cards:

The first one uses both the Vintage Christmas collections and the Dangle flake as an embellishment. The chipboard was embossed with Golden Bricks embossing powder.

The Second Card also uses both Vintage Christmas collections

To embellish I added some Blue Fern blooms and a Holiday Deer that was also embossed in golden Bricks embossing powder

For the last card, I used the Deer ornament which was embossed in 14 karat embossing powder.

I used some flowers and cheesecloth to embellish the card as well!!

Thank you so much for visiting Blue Fern Studios Blog

and thank you for supporting me for so many years!!!

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New year!!

Love,

Keren

Christmas Eve, with Karine

Hi, Blue Fern Studios fans,

What a great year it's been. I can't believe it's over! I had such a wonderful time being a part of this team and would like to thank Valerie and Leslie for the opportunity.

And since it's Christmas Eve, I would like to share my last Christmas creations. I made two sets of cards and a layout.

Wonder and Noel

For those two cards, I did start with a 6x6 card, covered with the Jolly paper from the Vintage Christmas 2 collection. I then put another square, slightly smaller, from the Tree Trimmings paper, also from the Vintage Christmas 2 collection.

I used the Large Flake chipboard, covered with Frozen Imagine Ink embossing powder. A piece of cheese cloth to soften the look. After that, I went with an image from the Jolly paper.

My title piece comes from the Winter Titles set. I covered it with Snow Imagine Ink embossing powder. I used some modeling paste to give the effect of snow. I did the same with the Chelsea vines. The flowers are from the Attic Charm Glitter Roses and Christmas Blooms.

For this card, I began with the same two patterned papers as the card above. My circle chipboard piece is the Splattered Circles set. I embossed it again with Frozen Imagine Ink embossing powder. After I put cheese cloth, I die-cut this little lady from the Let It Snow paper from the Vintage Christmas 2.

My title piece comes from the Winter Titles set. I covered it with Snow Imagine Ink embossing power and modeling paste. I did the same with the Chelsea Vines, again.

And again, the flowers are from the Attic Charm Glitter Roses and the Christmas Blooms.

Blue Fern Studios products used:
Tree Trimmings, Jolly and Let it Snow papers from the Vintage Christmas 2 collection.
Chelsea Vines, Splattered Circles, Large Flake and Winter Titles chipboards
Imagine Ink Frozen and Snow embossing powders
Attic Charm Glitter Roses and Christmas Blooms

Christmas

For those two cards, I went a little big because I wanted cards in which I could write a longer message. On my kraft cardstock, I added a piece of the Auld Lang Syne paper from the Vintage Christmas 1 collection. Over it, I added some modeling paste through a stencil. I then layered a piece of corrugated paper.

I cut one of the Lace Round in half, putting each piece on each side of my composition. I left this chipboard bare, to match the kraft of my card base. My sentiment is cut from the 'Twas the Night chipboard. The whole title was too big to put on my card, so I cut it apart to keep only the word «Christmas».

On this card, I used the Spring Branch. I painted la very light coat of white gesso, and then, I embossed part of it with Breeze Imagine Ink embossing powder.

On my second card, I used the Blooming Flourishes, that I embossed with Breeze Imagine Ink embossing powder.

I also used the Shabby Flakes, that I embossed with Snow Imagine Ink embossing powder. My large doily chipboard is the Dream Catcher chipboard.

My Christmas title is cut from the Holly Jolly Christmas piece. On both of my cards, I used Attic Charm Daisies, Christmas Blooms and Spring Lilies flowers.

Joy

I started out this layout with the Holiday Treats paper from the Vintage Christmas 2 collection. I put a light coat of white gesso in the bottom part of the paper, where my main composition will be. I then used some modeling paste through a brick stencil. Green inks to add a bit of color, and some stamping complete the background work.

My trees comes from the Winter Forest set. I covered them with Antique Gold Imagine Ink embossing powder.

Behind my photo, I used a part of the Mémoires Frame, also covered with Antique Gold embossing powder. On the picture above, You can see a cute little guy that I fussy cut from the Let It Snow paper, from the Vintage Christmas 2 collection.

I also used the Tree Trimmings (Vintage Christmas 2) and the Greeting Cards (Vintage Christmas 1) papers to mat my picture. The cute deer is also part of the Winter Forest set. I embossed it, like I did with every other chipboard on this layout, with Antique Gold embossing powder. On the picture above, you can also see that I used the Grungy Grid stamp.

I even used this tiny piece of the Tree Trimmings paper (the Merry Christmas rectangle). I didn't waste a bit of this gorgeous collection!

My title piece comes from the Winter Titles set. My flowers are from the Attic Charm Glitter Roses and the Tranquil Blooms.

Merry Christmas by Pascale B.

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Blue Fern Studios with my three last projects. I chose to work the two layouts with photos that I've taken in the beautiful castle of Chenonceau. The castle is well known for his beautiful floral compositions that ornated every room. Every year in December, the castle celebrated Christmas with special decorations. The first one is a white and gold composition ...

As usual, I started to prime the background paper with clear gesso. The I added a design with modeling paste and a stencil. Before the paste was dry I sprinkled the design with Pearl embossing powder that I heat set.

I painted the Framington Medley with green-gold opal magic paint and the straws with a gold acrylic paint.

I die-cut some berry branches that I colored with different watercolors. While the watercolors were still wet, I sprinkled Lime and Buttercup embossing powder that I heat set to give some texture.

Before gluing all the embellishments with a 3D matte gel, I added some colors to the background.

To finished the layout I added some mica flakes, glass glitter, micro beads, and glitters.

Blue Fern Studios products:

Papers - Serendipity (Fascination)
Papers - Memoires (Photographic Record)
Chipboard - Framington Medley
Flowers - Late Winter Lilies, Spring Lilies
Embossing Powder - Pearl, Lime, Buttercup
Glitter - Sunshine, Army Dust

------------------------------------

For the second project, I chose a photo I've taken in the kitchen of the castle: the composition was all about treats...

Again I primed the background with clear gesso before adding a design with the Christmas Collage stamp that I embossed with the Ginger embossing powder.

I added a second design with 3D gel and a stencil. When dry, I sprinkled some gold mica powder that I sprayed with water to make the powder run around the design. Then I colored the background with brown watercolors and sprinkled some white and brown inks.

While the background was drying, I covered the Ruth's Doily with a white crackle paste. I painted the French Word with a metallic paint. I painted the Blossom Branches with an acrylic paint too, I added some acrylic white ink and glitter to the blossoms.

While the chipboards were drying, I die-cut some leaves that I colored with watercolors. And I sprayed all the flowers with a gold mica powder. Then I glued all the embellishments with a 3D gel.

I finished the layout with some mica flakes, glass glitter, and glitter.

The last project is a set of Christmas cards. I used the Vintage Christmas 1 and 2 collections.

I made the two cards the same way. First I primed the background papers with clear gesso. Then I added a design with a stamp that I embossed with the 14 Karats powder. I embossed also the edge of the background as well as the cards.

I embossed the Leafy Accent Pages with the Sand and Sea powder. I colored lightly the background with acrylic paints.

I added some flowers and some die-cut leaves that I embossed with the Antique Gold powder.

For this one, I painted the Leafy Accent Pages with the same green watercolor I used on the background.

With a glue gun, I added a drop of glue on each Pretty Weeds's stem that I embossed with the Poinsettia powder.

I made two layouts and a video tutorial using the Christmas Vintage collections.

I framed the photo with the Frosty Flake chipboard that I embossed with Icicle embossing powder.

I also embossed the "Its a holly Jolly Christmas chipboard piece.

"ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU"

I mixed both collection on this layout.  I love the Holiday Treats Paper side b, and I combined with the Christmas Vintage - Magical paper.  I cut out some images from both collection and a card.

I painted the Stars and Berries chipboard frame with gesso and next with distress ink.

I added the big white flowers from the Christmas Blooms package.

I hope you find some inspirations in my work and because I don't like the "goodbyes" I tell you until next time!!!! xx
