November inspiration and Video tutorial by Vera Shelemekh

Hello Blue Fern Studios fans!
Vera Shelemekh is here all over in tinsel and glitter  Why? Just because Christmas is coming. And I don't know a scrapbooker who didn't pile the crafty space with Christmas paper and embelishments.
I did! And today I'll show you two Christmas layouts + a video tutorial with the amazing Vintage Christmas collection.

The fist layout is about my son and snowy Christmas eve. The picture was taken last year. Colors fit the Vintage Christmas collection perfectly. I used Let it snow paper as background.
Winter trees chipboards are covered with green acrylic paint and Blue Fern Studios Avocado Embossing powder

I also included deer in the composition. It's covered with Icicle Embossing powder.

Have you seen the new fantastic Vintage Christmas printed Chipboards? I've used the piece with the house.

The leaves die cuts are made of Vintage Christmas 2 - Twas the Night. And I laso cut some flowers from Holiday cards and Vintage Christmas - Deck the Halls

Please, enjoy my video tutorial from which you will learn how this layout is made.

December Inspiration with Jelissa

Hello friends!

Can you imagine, Christmas is less than 4 weeks away? I'm totally excited, and the cool weather has definitely put me in a festive mood.

Today, I'm up on the blog to share my creations for December, using the fabulous Vintage Christmas collection. While there are so many beautiful festive images for the season in this collection, there are also more generic papers that can be used for other themes.

For my first share, I've made a page of my boys based on the sweet December sketch by Michelle:

My background was mostly hidden by the clusters with little bits peeking out, so that the images on the paper do not get covered up. This time, I've also kept my layering to a minimum so that more attention can be given to the details in the embellishments.

Some close-ups:

One of the pieces from Clip Frames which I altered using Blue Fern Studios' own embossing powder. Love it that other than the red, it has a gorgeous gold tint to it. Lots of stamping in the background too to bring out a botanical feel.

Some fussy cut flowers which I tucked behind my photo. It has Christmas bits in it with the holly, but who would have know how nicely it blends in here!

A Deja Vu Tweets chippie which I altered with gold ink and painted with Imagine Ink in Persimmon.

Blue Fern Studios products used:
Vintage Christmas collection - Auld Lang Syne, Wonderland
Chipboards - Deja Vu Tweets Chippie, Clip Frames
Embossing Powder - Poinsettia
Mist - Persimmon

My second project and video tutorial is a Christmas mini album. When I first saw the Vintage Christmas papers, there were so many beautiful images I could cut out and use for an album so I knew I had to make one. As you all probably know by now, I'm not a Christmas project person with the exception of cards so this is really quite a first for me! Since the papers themselves are so gorgeous, I had to leave them as they are and build up smaller layers, so my tutorial focused more on playing with the chipboards.

More close-ups:

I decided to add Liquid Pearls to my Gingerbread House after the video was made.

And more close-ups:

And finally... here's the video. Have fun watching!

Once Upon A Time with the new Sanctuary papers

Hi friends!

Today I'm up on the Blue Fern Studios blog with a video tutorial for you. And I'm so excited about this one because it features the amazing new paper collection Sanctuary by our new designer Manuela Zimmerman. If you're a fan of shabby romantic papers like me, you must hoard this collection NOW.

So I found this beautiful winter scenery photo while searching for inspiration on Pinterest (it's December after all) and it is just perfect for the dark pensive tones of the Sanctuary papers. This collection may seem nature-themed, but I found it to be perfect for my winter layout as well. That's how versatile it is!

Here's the project:

And some close-ups:

Love those chipboards! I've used Holiday Vine (snipped into 3 pieces and tucked everywhere), Shabby Flakes and Winter Trees.

Making my own snow here - it's so much fun :D

And here's the video of how I created this layout:

Don't forget, every month Blue Fern Studios has a sketch challenge going on. Here is this month's sketch by Michelle Singh:

So gorgeous isn't it? I'm so inspired I'll be using it for some of my other DT projects as well.

That's all I have for you now. Meanwhile, happy crafting!

Happy Holiday from Camilla

Hi everybody! In just a few days we will be celebrating Christmas and I wish everybody a happy holiday. For my December blog post I have created some holiday themed projects using beautiful chipboards from Blue Fern Studios.

For this layout I have used three different kinds of chipboards - the Swirly Doodle, snowflakes from Let It Snow Set and Filmstrips. The chipboards are first painted with gold and I then added some gold glimmer glitter paint here and there.

For this card I used a snowflake from Let It Snow Set and a frame from the Ever After Frame Set. The frame is painted in pearl modeling cream. The snowflake is covered with snow tex.

Another card where I have used a snowflake from Let It Snow Set. I have also used two trees from the Winter Trees Set. I left the snowflake just as it is. The trees are painted in white gesso and then I added some brown embossing powder and also some gold glam glitter paint.

I wish you a happy holiday! See you next year!

A few simple Christmas Cards with Yana

Hello everyone! This is Yana sharing my newest projects using Blue Fern Studios chipboards. This month I have a few clean & simple cards to share with you.

Those are some super easy and fun projects to do and they really don't require a lot of supplies or time! Plus you can easily turn them into mass-produced cards for the holidays to send to your family and friends.

First up - Merry Christmas card:

I used Shabby Flakes chipboard for this card:

My second project is another simple card with a few snowflakes layered on top of each other:

Once again I used chipboards from the same Shabby Flakes set:

My last project has a little bit of a vintage feel to it, although its also a very simple one:

The tree on this card is from the Winter Trees set:
This is all from me for today, I hope you liked my cards! Thank you for stopping by!
