How Sweet it is to be Loved by You.

Hello Blue Fern Studios Fans!  Phyllis here to share my last layout for Fan of the Month. I created a layout using the Amber & Apricot collection.  So Gorgeous!  I love colors of fall.

First off I started with Amber & Apricot's Joyful paper and cut off the edges then did some distressing.  I added Amber & Apricot's Faded Blooms paper for my backing.  I love how the brownish tan and beautiful design looks behind Joyful paper.  I also distressed the edges.   I used Birdsong and tore around the birds and a portion of the paper for my design.  Then I used the other side of Birdsong for some contrast and tore some more paper.

I added texture paste through a stencil, and then added Blue Fern Studios Blood Orange embossing powder.  It was exactly what I was hoping for, just enough glitter and color.  I also used the Blue Fern Studios Crackle & Grunge Grid Stamps for more texture.

For layering I added Blue Fern Studios flowers and chipboard - Apricot Blooms, Wanderlust Lilies, Fern Leaves, Manchester Frame and Roman Clock chipboard pieces.  I added Blue Fern Studios embossing powders Avocado and Chili powder to the Manchester Frame, and then added some Blood Orange to it.  For the Roman Clock I used Blue Fern Studios Chili Powder.  I painted the Fern Leaves chipboard pieces with gold acrylic paint.  For the last part of creating my layout I added some Blue Fern Studios Twig & Mustard Seedlings.  For the title I used the Amber & Apricot Sticker Chipboard piece,  How Sweet it is to be Loved by you.

August inspiration by Pascale B.

Hello Sweeties

Today I'm back on Blue Fern Studios blog.

The first layout I have to share with you a layout feature a photo montage I've created.I used the new collection Amber and Apricot.

First, I primed the background with clear gesso. Then I mixed some Autumn glitter with a 3D gloss gel to add a design with a stencil to the background. I want the design to be discreet.

I covered the Corner Flourish with a copper crackle paste. I primed the Fern leaves with gesso, then I painted them with different watercolors. While the watercolors were still wet I sprinkled them with several embossing powders: Lime, Avocado, Chili Powder and Hot Cocoa and I heat embossed them.

When the background was dried, I used the Honey Bits and the Departure stamps to add more texture with different Archival inks.

I cut a few papers to add under the photo. Then I glued all the embellishments: some Apricot and Chesterville Blooms, the Fern Leaves and the Corner Flourish. I added some color to the background.

To finish the layout I added some Twig and Paprika seedlings.

Here is my second project. I used again the Amber & Apricot collection to lay out this photo of a sculpture from Edith Guillaume.

I primed the background with clear gesso. Then I added a design with a stencil and clear crackle paste. I let dry naturally.

I primed Krystal's border with white gesso. Then I embossed it with different embossing powders to match the color of the statue.

When the background was dry, I added another design with the Departure stamp and the Pear embossing powder. Then I added some color with different watercolors.

I primed the Rose leaves with white gesso before painting them with different shades of green and brown watercolors.

I cut a few papers from the Amber & Apricot collection to add under the photo and I glued all the embellishments with a 3D gel.

To finished the layout I added some seedlings and glitter.

Here is my third project. I work with the Happy Accident collection to showcase a photo I've taken of the castle of L'Islette where the tempestuous love affair between the two sculptors Camille Claudel and Auguste Rodin was sheltered.

As usual, I primed the background with clear gesso. Then I added a design with a stencil and Graphite paste. When dry I toned down the design with white gesso.

While the background was drying, I primed the Leafy Twigs with white gesso and the Manchester Frame with black gesso. I used some waxes to alter the frame.

I colored the leaves with different shades of green watercolor and sprinkled them with the Avocado embossing powder while they were still wet. After having embossed them, I added some green wax.

I cut some papers to add under the photo in the Layering Cards sheet and I glued all the embellishments with a 3D gel.

To finish the layout I added some seedlings and glitter.

July Inspiration by Kris Berc

Hi, Blue Fern Studios fans! It's Kris here to share my July projects with you.  I have three layouts to show you today that I hope will get you into a creative mood!

Wish

For this layout, I chose a beautiful paper called Concert Hall from the Courtship Lane collection.  I love how the paper matches the backdrop in this photo of my daughter.  This photo was taken at one of her recent dance competitions...it's a small group jazz number to "Bippity Boppity Boo"!

I treated the paper with drops of blue and pink spray ink, topped that with some white gesso through a stencil, and then used a stamp from the Forever stamp set with black ink.

I embossed the "Wish" title piece with three colors of Imagine Ink embossing powder (In the Navy, Bonny Blue, and Icicle).

I embossed the Manchester Frame in Imagine Ink Bonny Blue powder, and then layered on the Folkart Frame, which I embossed with Imagine Ink In the Navy powder.  I'm so pleased with the effect!  Don't be afraid to layer your chipboard pieces :)

Daddy's Little Girl

I chose a beautiful paper from the Serendipity collection called Imagination for my second layout.  I treated it with some white gesso, some drops of pink, peach, and orange spray ink, and some stamping in black with the Tattered Newsprint stamp.

Oh how I adore this Daddy's little Girl chipboard piece!  It comes as one piece, but I cut it into two pieces in order to suit my design.  It's embossed with Imagine Ink embossing powder in Antique Gold.  I used the same treatment on the Royal Monarch to the right of the photo.

I embossed two of the Berry Stems chipboard pieces with Sand & Sea Imagine Ink embossing powder and tucked those into the top and bottom of my flower cluster.  There are several berry stem pieces in the set!

Joy

I went back to the gorgeous Courtship Lane paper collection for my third layout.  The paper is called Royal Street.  I kept the mixed media quite simple on this one.  As you can surely see, Blue Fern Studios papers and embellishments are gorgeous as they are and do not need extensive altering to look fabulous in your scrapbooks!  I simply added some drops of purple and teal mists, then stamped here and there with a stamp from the Forever stamp set.

I covered a Graduated Circles chipboard piece with Iridescent Grey Imagine Ink embossing powder.  What an awesome powder it is!  A favorite for sure.

The Joy chipboard piece from the Good Vibes set sums up the emotion of the photo of my daughter and her grandfather perfectly.  It was a joyful visit for sure :)  I embossed the chipboard with Imagine Ink embossing powder in the color Plum.  It's a lovely, rich color and it looks terrific with the plum colored berries!

Februari Projects By Wendy Scholten

Hi Everyone,

Today it's my turn to show you my projects for this month, 2 of them feature the new Chesterville collection, it's absolutely stunning!

For my first page

"All Natural"

i used the Chesterville Hargrave paper, when i saw this one i knew i had to use it!

I mixed some white gesso with artsian powders and created a background for my photo.
Then i used the harlequin of the Texture 1 stamp and one of the vintage phrases
and also a stencil i used with paint to give my background more texture.
a few chrystals and string from my own stash.
The Chesterville collection comes with some beautiful grungy chipboard pieces, i used the Chesterville Collage which i cut in pieces to fit my photo right and an older set called All Natural, which matched my theme for this page perfectly.

I treated the Chesterville Collage with Oatmeal embossing powder, The All natural Set with Mushroom  and Sand and Sea embossing powder except for the butterfly (It's a girl embossing powder) and my title, on that one i used Vintage Gold embossing powder.
I also used a few Lilies from the Havest, Late Winter and Spring Lilies, thes are so gorgeous and can be used on everything!

Now for my second one

 "Two Hearts"

i made a smaller canvas with Attic Charm papers and a picture from our wedding day in 2012.

I used the Spring Posy papers as well as a few cards from the calling cards paper and strips of paper from the Sachet paper where i put some lace behind and between the layers to give it some depth.
I created the background with the Forever stamp and
i also used some It's a girl embossing powder and the essential texture stamp for different textures.
For my chipboard pieces i used the Floral clock and the Symphony border which i treated with snow embossing powder mixed with some glitters.
The Title Two Hearts from the Wedding Words Set i embossed with mushroom embossing powder but i found it was too dark so i used a little Gesso to tone it down a little.
i used some glitter, small flowers, chrystals and beads from my own stash.
For the flower clusters i used the Harvest Lilies.

And for the third one

"Sassy"

i also used the new Chesterville Collection.
For this page i used the Whitford paper and placed the Bretton paper (this one is so pretty with the small flowers) which i cut a bit smaller on top.
I cut the inside of the Whitford paper and used a piece of it behind my photo.
I made a lot of photo's of our little girl on our last vacation, i like them so much combined with these papers as you can probably see, because i used two already this month, lol.
For the background i used modeling paste with a stencil which i colored with artisan powders and mica powders. I tucked in some Cheesecloth behind my photo.
I used the Manchester Frame which is part of this Chesterville Collection and the title Sassy from the Cute Sweet Sassy Set.
The Frame was embossed with the mushroom embossing powder and the title Sassy was treated first with crackle paste for some texture and then i used the vintage gold embossing powder.
I used the  Late Winter Lilies and the Harvest Lilies.
To give it al some more texture and depth i used some different sizes of art stones.
I also used some small embesllishments and flowers from my own stash.
