October inspiration by Vera Shelemekh

Hello Blue Fern Studios fans,
Vera Shelemekh is here with some fresh inspiration. When I received the Homespun collection I just put away everything and started to create. I made a layout and a cookbook for homemade receipes to share with you this month ) This collection is so heartwarming and so cute that it became one of my fav Blue Fern collections.
But first, you know. winter is almost here and I'd like to create some wintery mood here on blog and only then warm you with something cosy )
So here it is
I used Vintage Christmas - Auld Lang Syne as background together with flowers cut from Vintage Christmas - Deck the Halls paper.
There is a lot of wonderful Blue Fern Studios chipboards on this page:  Swirl ornaments covered with fire engine glitter and glistening sand embossing powder.
Berry stems are covered with Icicle Embossing powder.
I also separeated some  framed winter words from the frame and covered the letters with glistening sand embossing powder.
The tree itself is cut from the remnants of Vintage Christmas - Deck the Halls paper and painted with brown acrylic paint and Taupe embossing powder.

July Inspiration by Kris Berc

Hi, Blue Fern Studios fans! It's Kris here to share my July projects with you.  I have three layouts to show you today that I hope will get you into a creative mood!

Wish

For this layout, I chose a beautiful paper called Concert Hall from the Courtship Lane collection.  I love how the paper matches the backdrop in this photo of my daughter.  This photo was taken at one of her recent dance competitions...it's a small group jazz number to "Bippity Boppity Boo"!

I treated the paper with drops of blue and pink spray ink, topped that with some white gesso through a stencil, and then used a stamp from the Forever stamp set with black ink.

I embossed the "Wish" title piece with three colors of Imagine Ink embossing powder (In the Navy, Bonny Blue, and Icicle).

I embossed the Manchester Frame in Imagine Ink Bonny Blue powder, and then layered on the Folkart Frame, which I embossed with Imagine Ink In the Navy powder.  I'm so pleased with the effect!  Don't be afraid to layer your chipboard pieces :)

Daddy's Little Girl

I chose a beautiful paper from the Serendipity collection called Imagination for my second layout.  I treated it with some white gesso, some drops of pink, peach, and orange spray ink, and some stamping in black with the Tattered Newsprint stamp.

Oh how I adore this Daddy's little Girl chipboard piece!  It comes as one piece, but I cut it into two pieces in order to suit my design.  It's embossed with Imagine Ink embossing powder in Antique Gold.  I used the same treatment on the Royal Monarch to the right of the photo.

I embossed two of the Berry Stems chipboard pieces with Sand & Sea Imagine Ink embossing powder and tucked those into the top and bottom of my flower cluster.  There are several berry stem pieces in the set!

Joy

I went back to the gorgeous Courtship Lane paper collection for my third layout.  The paper is called Royal Street.  I kept the mixed media quite simple on this one.  As you can surely see, Blue Fern Studios papers and embellishments are gorgeous as they are and do not need extensive altering to look fabulous in your scrapbooks!  I simply added some drops of purple and teal mists, then stamped here and there with a stamp from the Forever stamp set.

I covered a Graduated Circles chipboard piece with Iridescent Grey Imagine Ink embossing powder.  What an awesome powder it is!  A favorite for sure.

The Joy chipboard piece from the Good Vibes set sums up the emotion of the photo of my daughter and her grandfather perfectly.  It was a joyful visit for sure :)  I embossed the chipboard with Imagine Ink embossing powder in the color Plum.  It's a lovely, rich color and it looks terrific with the plum colored berries!

May Projects by Babi

Hi Everyone,

Today it's my turn to share with you my new projects with the new Happy Accident collection.
I used the gorgeous Fate and Lucky papers  to create my first project, called "Creativity".

I applied some texture paste on a butterfly stencil to create a light texture to the main paper. Then, I glued a few strips of the Lucky paper to complete the background.

I covered the Berry Stems and Collage chipboards with Plum and Oatmeal embossing powder. It matched perfectly with the paper.

I stamped the Spring Accents on a vellum paper and cut it to create the cluster. Then, added some flowers and other embellishments to finish my page.

Supplies using Blue Fern Studios:
Papers: Fate and Lucky
Chipboard: Berry Stems and Collage
Embossing Powder: Oatmeal and Plum
Flowers: Happy Roses
Stamp: Spring Accents

--------------

I'm also using the  Happy Accident Collection to create my second page called "Happiness".

I used the Incident paper as the main page. This paper has a lovely texture and I didn't feel the need to add much more to it.  I simply added some texture paste on a script stencil and poured some Honey embossing powder,  just to bring a little bit of attention to the middle of the page.

Then I stamped the background with black ink and my base is ready to be decorated.

I covered  Garden Lace and Turkish Bits with Snow and Stormy Skies embossing powder.  I basically covered the chipboards with  Snow Powder and sprinkled the Stormy Skies to add more contrast.

I finished with Printed Chipboards - Happy Accident, flowers and and cut leaves.

Supplies using Blue Fern Studios:
Papers: Incident
Chipboard: Garden Lace Bits, Turkish Bits and Printed Chipboard
Embossing Powder: Honey, Snow Stormy Skies

--------------

My last project is a exploding box also with Happy Accident collection. I just love this "yellow - blue" color combo and decided to create something to go along with my second layout.

I used a kraft cardstock to create the base  and lid for my box.

I choose the following papers to decorate the layers and the interior of the box: IncidentFlukeFate and Chance.

On the lid I used a beautiful frame that came in the Printed Chipboard sheet. I covered it with gesso to match the papers.

I also used Spring Flowers and Layering Stems that I covered with Snow embossing powder.

The interior  was decorated with the papers listed above and some flowers that I fussed cut from Fascination- Serendipity collection.

Some elements from Printed Chipboard to decorate the little squares.  I created two layers for the interior but it was quite difficult to photograph.

Then, added Turkish Bits chipboard which I embossed with Snow and  Breeze embossing Powder.

Flowers, laces and other embellishents for the final details.

Supplies using Blue Fern Studios:
Papers: Incident, Fluke, Fate and Chance - Happy Accident
Fascination- Serendipity
Chipboard:  Turkish Bits, Layering Stems and Printed Chipboard

Hope you enjoy it and have lots of fun with this beautiful collection.
See y'all next month.

Three Christmas Layouts with Karine

Hi there,

It's Karine here today to share with you three Christmas layouts!

I must admit I'm not a big fan of Christmas scrapbooking, but when I recieved my last Blue Fern Studios package, I was thrilled! Both Vintage Christmas and Vintage Christmas 2 collections are simply wonderful! So let's start with my first layout.

Twinkle

I started out with the Deck The Halls paper from Vintage Christmas. I wanted to go with a traditional color combo with this one, and the red in the paper immediately spoke to me. I also used some of the cards from the Greeting Cards paper, also from Vintage Christmas, to layer under my photo.

I used the beautiful Tree Toys chipboards on my layout. I embossed it with Imagine Ink Lime embossing powder. While the powder was still hot, I sprinkled some Imagine Ink Vintage Gold glitter. I love the beautiful effect it gave.

To embellish around my photo, I used the beautiful Attic Charm Glitter Roses, as they come with beautiful gold glitter and the colors matched perfectly my layout. I also used two Harvest Lilies.

Finally, my title piece comes from the Winter Titles set. I treated it the same way as the other chipboards.

Magical

My second layout is called Magical. For this one, I wanted a more elegant look, so I choose the Wonderland paper, from Vintage Christmas. I aslo used a piece of the Calling Cards paper from Vintage Christmas 2 to layer underneath my photo.

I treated my background with golden brown ink. I used the Forever stamps set to add a little bit of interest to the background.

I used the Winter Flakes chipboards on my layout. I covered them with silver embossing powder.

My title piece comes from the Winter Titles set. I covered it with ginger Imagine Ink embossing powder.

Sparkle

I went a bit over the top with my last layout. I started with the Let it Snow paper from the Vintage Christmas 2 collection. I layered pieces of the 'Twas the Night and Calling Cards papers, also from the Vintage Christmas 2 collection.

My layout is built around the beautiful Bubbles and Bows chipboard. I treated it with an embossing powder containing some green and gold flakes.

All through my flower cluster, I used the Berry Stems chipboards. They were covered with Imagine Ink Sea Mist embossing powder.

Look at this beautiful Santa image! Isn't it lovely?

Amongst all flowers, I used one of the Christmas Blooms. You can see it in the picture above.

My title piece, part of the Winter Titles set again, is covered with Imagine Ink Ginger embossing powder and while the powder was still hot, I sprinkled some Imagine Ink Vintage Gold glitter.

I hope my layouts help you catch a little bit of Christmas spirit.
