Video Tutorial with the Autumn Anthology by Marilyn

Hi everyone!! Marilyn here with you today sharing two projects and a video tutorial with the Autumn Anthology collection. I really love this collection the colors and designs are amazing.  I also worked with the new mist - Imagine Ink- that are fantastic, you will see it in the video.
Here's my first project ...
I love the design of the Double Swirl-large  chipboard and I used  like a stencil too, you will see the process in the video tutorial.  I chose the Newsworthy paper from the new Autumn Anthology collection.

I paint my title "Today, Tomorrow, Yesterday" chipboard with the new mist- Persimmon color.

I added textures to the chippies with mediums and micro beads.

I cut out some butterflies from the Frolic collection.

I stamped with the "Textures circles" and the "Essential Textures" stamps.

Here's the video...I hope it inspires you!!!

"Love My Work"-
I made my second project with the September sketch challenge,
Le Ballon from the Autumn Anthology is this beautiful paper that I selected to make my page.  I also worked with the new mist- the sky color.

I cut out some butterflies and gave textures with glass beads.

My title is from the "Happy, Heart, Love" chipboard.

I used pieces of the Garden Lattice chipboard to surround my picture and stamped with the essential textures stamp.

Thanks for stopping by...Until next time!!! xx

Autumn Anthology with Bente.

Hi, it's Bente here with a couple of layouts to share using the latest gorgeous
paper collection Autumn Anthology.
It is simply a mixture of stunning designs and some of my most favourite colours.

Here is my first page with the collection:

Did you know that Blue Fern Studios now even carry mists? There will be new mists with each collection and I used two of the new colours here; Imagine Inks Leaf and Sky.

I painted the chipboard title-words a neutral beige colour and decorated with some micro beads.
I used  the stunning  Jackie's Window to ground my design and this one is also painted with a mix of acrylic paint and some green mist. After it dried I went over the edges with a small chalk ink pad.

As you can see I  used some of the new stamps on my page.
I used all three designs from the Essential Textures set.
I cut out the banner that you can see under the chipboard from one of the calling cards.
The title is made of a couple of words from the  Chunky Words set.

To make my flower cluster complete I added a few small chipboard twigs called Berry Stems.
I love the brown colour they were painted and the delicate look of them.

Ok, now for my second page for today:

Another beautiful sheet from the Autumn Anthology collection
I actually fussy cut a part of one paper and added it on top of this blue one, (in case you go looking for a paper that looks like this :-D)

I used the Royal Heart Frame to surround the photo on top of the layers of paper and calling cards.

After I painted the heart frame a suitable colour I heat-embossed it with gold using one of the same textured stamps as above. I think the look is really neat!!

I added a few bits and pieces from the inside of larger chipboard pieces.
I find these are good to hold on to as they can be really useful.

As you see from the shot here I have added quite a lot of media to my layered papers.
I added different beads as well as glitter gel, paint, gesso, and ink.
There is a certain shimmer to the page that does not come through in the pictures.

Finally a little reminder that there's still ample time to join in our sketch challenge for September.
Below is a picture of the sketch and a page I made as an example.

You can read ALL bout the challenge HERE.

Thanks for looking!

Autumn Anthology Layouts with Angelica

Happy Saturday, friends! I was so excited to get the new paper collection, Autumn Anthology. They're designed beautifully! I created three layouts that I'm going to share with you today.

Purple is my favorite color and I love it paired with a soft green! I used the Gazebo paper as my background. But behind that I used Parfumerie as an added layer. Before I got started I used BFS new mist, Leaf, in the center. I love the mist....has great coverage and is light.

I used both Quatrefoil Garden Panels. I painted them with gesso then used some stucco paste for texture. For a bit added color as I used a light coat of the green mist.

I painted the blossom branches and lightly tinted them with the mist.

I have never scrapped this color combo before(well as least not that I can remember) but I have to say the blue and peach are just gorgeous!!! This is my take on the September Sketch. I used the La Ballon paper as my background and Mercantile as a mat. On the background I did some light brushing with gesso then used the Sky Mist and Persimmon Mist as splats. I randomly did some stamping with the Essential Texture Stamp.

I used the Layering Stems and Organic Vines as my foliage. This time used about three coats of the Leaf Mist to get full coverage.

I used pieces of the Screen Panel as a bottom layer.

The Parfumerie Paper is so pretty! I used it for my background and Penmanship for a mat. I used the bricks stamp for the Essential Texture set.

I used both the Iron Work Edges. I painted them with gesso, Lightly misted with brown, then used Stucco paste. Once dried I rubbed some distress ink on the raised parts of the stucco.
I did the same for the Floral Lattice Bits.

 Thanks for taking a peek!

Blues & Greens with Frolic Collection- By Keren Tamir

Hi Everyone!
Its Keren here on the Blue Fern Studios blog with a couple of layouts using the Frolic Collection.

One of my favourite colours to use on my layouts are blues and greens. These include teal, turquoise, emerald or olive. Well basically all shades of blue and green.

"Perfect Day"
Here is my first layout using the Frolic- Veranda paper for the background.

I used this blueish green paper because I wanted to create a beach themed layout.
I used the Birds on a wire chipboard and joined it with a set of fussy cut birds from the Frolic Calling cards paper.

Finally I used some anchors and chains from the Anchors Away  chipboard set.

<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>

"You are my Fairytale"
My second layout uses the Frolic- Dans le Jardin paper for the background.
I cut the paper in half and joined it again with the imagery in the middle so when I added my embellishments and photo, they were part of the design.

I used the Timeless floral corner to frame around my photo and then I embellished with two La Plume feather chipboard pieces which I cut in half.

Finally I used the "Fairytale" chipboard title.

Thank you so much for visiting the Blue Fern Studios blog
have a wonderful day!!

Three Layouts Featuring Autumn Anthology and Frolic

Hi everyone!  Debbie here with you today sharing 3 layouts I created.  My first two layouts feature the
new paper collection Autumn Anthology!  Absolutely love this new collection!  The colors and details
in the paper are beautiful!

I thought the new Autumn Anthology collection worked well with some old treasured family photos.
I love this old photo of my grandparents, my mom and her siblings.  I used Newsworthy, Mercantile, Gazebo and Calling Cards papers.  Lots of layering behind my photo and some fussy cutting.

I used one of the new Blue Fern Studios Imagine Ink Mica Color Mists, Sky on my chipboard title and then stamped it with the new Essential Textures stamps.

Tucked beneath layers of papers I used the Roman Clock chipboard.

Here I've used the new French Ironwork chipboard piece which I left untreated and use the new Persimmon mist.  Leaving the chipboard raw brought out a darker color in the mist.

I also used the new Leaf mist on a mini flourish chipboard piece.

On my next layout I used Calling Cards and Cottage papers from the Autumn Anthology paper collection. Here I've used another treasured family photo of my mom and her brother.
I did some masking on the background and misted with the Persimmon mist.
Here you can see when sprayed on a light background the color is much brighter.

The new chipboard piece, An Autumn Story was covered with acrylic glaze and given a light misting with the Persimmon mist.  I used a Garden Daisy chipboard which I misted with the Sky mist and cut apart to use in two different places on my layout.

The Garden Lattice Bits Chipboard was covered with an acrylic glaze.  Tucked into my flower cluster is the other piece of the Garden Daisy chipboard.

I used a piece of the Symphony border chipboard here in my flower cluster.

My final layout was created using the Frolic collection and was based off of the September sketch.
I used several papers on this layout, Amoroso, Friendship, Mercantile, Dan Le Jardin, Allegro, Secretary Calling Cards ,and Petits Moments, mostly for layering behind my photo

I took the Tea Medley chipboard piece and cut it in half, using it on both sides of my picture.  I primed it with gesso and embossed it with pink embossing powder.

Tucked within my flower clusters of piece of the Floral Medley Frame with I randomly sprinkled with pink embossing powder.

At the top of my layout I used the Jasmine Floral Pendant which I embossed with light pink embossing powder.

I hope you have enjoyed my layouts.  Don't forget that you still have time to enter our September Sketch Challenge.  You can find all of the details here.
