Creating Memories With The Blue Fern Memoires Paper Collection By Renea Harrison

Hello everyone, and welcome to my November Blue Fern Studios Design Team Reveal!
I am kicking off November with 3 projects that I created using the new Blue Fern Studios Paper Collection-Memoires.
This first layout is an example that I created for the Blue Fern November All About Titles Challenge, and for this project, I went with a Fall theme. I used a wedding photo that I added my husband and my initials to for a fun take on my romantic style. My husband and I have been together for 30 years and I am still crazy in love with him!!

I took a piece of the Memoires Songbird's Drama Paper, and used it for the bottom layer, I then took a second layer of the same paper and fussy cut out the column piece along the side and the bird and flower piece at the bottom and added them on with foam tape to add a 3D effect to my layout.

I then added burlap for a Rustic Chic look and

took a piece of  the Memoires Paper from the collection, tore out a section, crackle painted it then inked over the crackle for YUMMY finish. I added that then placed my photo on top. I then added areas around the photo with the crackle paint and inking to add depth and pull in the fall colors of the photo.

I wanted to show a close up of the Crackle Detail, so that you can see how much depth and detail it adds.

I tucked a Blue Fern Scalloped Boarder Chipboard Piece  that I heat embossed with Imagine Ink Honey Embossing Powder, then randomly dabbed the piece with a clear ink dabber and heat embossed those areas with Imagine Ink Nutmeg Embossing Powder.
Next I added a Blue Fern Studios Wild Flourish Bundle Chipboard Piece that I heat embossed with 3 different colors of Imagine Ink Embossing Powder; Sage, Clover, and
Oatmeal. Adding on various Mulberry Paper Flowers and tucking in a burlap string bow.

Here you can see the detail that 3 different colors of embossing powder gave the piece.

I added flowers to the 3D column piece,

and flowers to the bottom 3D cutout.
The handcrafted butterflies are my Fall Leaf Butterflies and they added a perfect touch to the Fall theme of my layout.

I added more flowers and another burlap string bow to the photo corner.

And for my "Title" to complete the Blue Fern Challenge,  I used the Blue Fern True Story Chipboard Piece from the True Story, Big Drama Set. I first inked the piece and then took a marker and highlighted the letters to make them stand out.

Blue Fern Studios Supply List:
Memoires Paper Collection:
Memoires
Songbird's Drama

Chipboard:
Scalloped Boarder
Wild Flourish Bundle
True Story, Big Drama Set ( I used True Story Sentiment)

Imagine Ink:
Sage Embossing Powder
Clover Embossing Powder
Ginger Embossing Powder
Nutmeg Embossing Powder
Oatmeal Embossing Powder
Honey Embossing Powder

For my second, November, Blue Fern Studios Project, I created a layout showing how you can use the Memories Paper Collection, along with Blue Fern Chipboard, and Imagine Ink Embossing Powders to create a Masculine layout.
The photo is one of my husband and his Dad when they were younger, and is one of those rare photos since they both do not like to be photographed, so I cherish it and keep the original on my mantel at home.

The bottom layer is a piece of  Memoires-Tales Of Treasures Paper that I spray stained the edges on. I added a torn, corrugated board strip down the middle that I spray stained, and inked,

and then I stamped around the board piece with a Blue Fern Studios Coarse Fabrics Stamp, and then heat embossed with Imagine Ink Ebony Embossing Powder for a nice, grungy effect.

I used a set of Blue Fern Studios Splattered Circles Chipboard, layering them together to form a perfect showpiece for my photo. I clipped the photo on with a metal clip and then topped it with a metal dream key.

The detail on the circles was create using layers of Imagine Ink Embossing Powders that include: Ebony, Peacock, and Nutmeg. I also added some black microbeads, creating a gorgeous texture!

I then cut apart some Blue Fern Studios Chained Bits Chipboard, heat embossed the pieces with Imagine Ink Ebony Embossing Powder, and added them randomly to my layout. I added on 2 metal clips to the top and bottom corner pieces, then cut out some sentiment pieces from the bottom strips that you cut of the papers ( they are the titles of the papers) distress and inked those and then clipped them into the clips.

With Masculine layouts, I don't like to use flowers or a lot of  "fru-fru" so here you can see how using those Blue Fern Products can really help you to create a gorgeous piece with a lot of detail and texture without a lot of the stuff that you would use on a feminine piece.

Blue Fern Studios Supply List:

Memoires Paper Collection:
Tales Of Treasures

Chipboard:
Splattered Circles
Chained Bits

Stamp:
Coarse Fabrics

Imagine Ink:
Ebony Embossing Powder
Nutmeg
Embossing Powder
Peacock
Embossing Powder

For my 3rd Blue Fern Studios November project, I have a Vintage~Romantic style Pocket Journal to share with you. I used the new Memoires Paper Collection for this project and I just love how those gorgeous papers with the Calling Card Pieces make putting together a piece like this a snap!!

I started with a Sewn Pocket Folder Base, and then layered on Memoires Chronicle Paper on the front and back. Cut out some sentiments from the Calling Cards Paper and clipped them to the top.

I then took a Blue Fern Studios Looped Frame Chipboard (I used the medium from the Set), and heat embossed it with Imagine Ink Garnet Embossing Powder, randomly dabbed it with a clear embossing ink dabber and heat embossed those areas with Imagine Ink Pearl Embossing Powder.
I then cut out some Memoires Grand Sequel Paper and backed the frame with that, adding inked corrugated board and topping that with my Vintage Image.

I added scalloped lace to the bottom, fussy cut out the typewriter and bird image from the papers and added that with foam tape for a dimensional effect. I then topped the image with some flowers along with a Attic Charm Daisy.

I fussy cut the little bird in the pocket watch from the Memoires Calling Cards Paper, punched a hole and added a metal chain with link and topped the piece with some more mini roses. I atatched the piece with Velcro so that it can be removed and one can journal or add a small photo to the back.

Here you can see all the tuck ins that I created with the Memoires  Papers and Calling Cards, that can be used for journaling and small photos as well. The pieces include:
2-Large tags topped with lace, hand dyed seam binding bows and timeless buttons
2-Medium Pull Outs topped with hand dyed seam binding bows and mini roses
3-Smaller pull outs
2-small "tickets"

And here is the back side.

Hi everyone! Today, I have prepared three layouts with Memoires collection. And I'm happy to show it to you. This collection is so beautiful and inspiring! It's best to keep your memories!

"The story of one family" layout

This photo of my friend and her mother. Mother and daughter. How are they similar and how beautiful! How beautiful background that they create for their lives, and for the people who surround them. Delight!

I used the Songbird's Drama paper from the Memoires Collection as my background paper. In my project you can see the many eco-friendly elements such as wood saw cuts, craft, dried herbs, herbarium.

Сhipboard element "True Story" I covered with Imagine Ink Copper embossing powder. And large Circle Flourish was covered with mixture of Imagine Ink embossing powders in Lime and Sage, which give the the perfect combination! I also added here Imagine Ink Copper embossing powder in flowers and flower buds thereof chipboard.

I also added here flower from Harvest Lilies, Late Winter Lilies, Tranquil Blooms sets.

Joy (chipboard element from the "Good Vibes" set) was covered with Imagine Ink Heavenly embossing powder. And the Circle Groups I decorated with Imagine Ink Honey embossing powder.
,

You can see the Country Garden stamp with Imagine Ink Honey embossing powder. I added it to draw some more flowers in my background. And I used the Grungy Grid stamp with Imagine Ink Heavenly embossing powder to add some details on my background.

I used a mix of Imagine Ink embossing powder to color the all сhipbord items on this layout. Lilac and 14 karat - they look good together! I recommend you this combination!

Blending the Old with the New; October Inspiration with Sandi

Hello, hello!
Sandi here with you today sharing my October creations.
I've used 3 different paper collections but one thing remains the same: awesome Blue Fern Studios chipboard!

I received the new Memoires paper collection just a few days ago along with a new batch of chipboard, flowers, stamps, embossing powder and glitter. I love taking time to admire everything and start formulating ideas for projects.

"True Story"

The Memoires paper are my new favorite … they are kind of a blend of the "Serendipity" feel paired with the warm colors of our "Autumn Anthology" papers. So hard to decide where to start because each one is so beautiful!

The base layer is Twilight Fable layered with some torn Nature's Novel and Calling Cards for my photo layers. I did some mixed media work and then stamped randomly with the Crackle Textures stamp. Behind my photo you'll find the Persian Ornament chipboard piece which was embossed with the new Mocha Embossing Powder. It sure does shine! I treated the title piece from True Story, Big Drama the same way. I wanted the colors to mimic the papers, so stayed in that color family.

The Spring in Paris chipboard piece is divine! I chose Black Sand embossing powder for that one as well as for the border piece, Mina's Border. I thought is would work well for architectural pieces. Here you can see some of our new flowers, Memoires Blooms. So yummy!

My border is only attached in one spot since it is layered over the Persian Ornament piece, so it looks a little crooked although it's not. It's just dangling a bit. See how much shine you get with Mocha Embossing Powder, wow!

I'm dying over all the new stamps I received this time! Some of them have been available for a few months but my previous DT order went in before their release. I love stamps that have textural effects and have used this one around the edges of the paper and then randomly thoughout the design.

A really good look at the Persian Ornament chipboard!

Another sweet Memories Bloom off to the side.
I finished with some black ink splatters.
Now I can't wait to create my next Memoires project!

Blue Fern Studios products used:
Paper: Memoires Twilight Fable, Nature's Novel, Calling Cards
Chipboard: Persian Ornament, Spring in Paris, Mina's Border, True Story, Big Drama set
Stamps: Crackle Textures
Embossing Powder: Mocha, Black Sand
Flowers: Memoires Blooms

"Reminisce"

Serendipity is the collection that just keeps on giving for me! I have used almost all I have and am saving my tiniest scraps because it is so cherished! This time another engagement photo with a sunburst which captures the joy between these two lovebirds!

I did some texture work on the Merriment paper and then starting preparing my chipboard pieces. First the Rose Collage and then the Destiny Collage. This time, I decided to colorize with gelatoes after priming my chipboard with white gesso. Then I kicked the pieces up a notch by adding some random Auburn Embossing Powder. The Reminisce title piece from Serendipity Words 2 is simply inked and then dabbed with white gesso.

For flowers, I've used a combination of Tranquil Roses, Memoires Blooms and Late Winter Lilies. Layers were built with torn pieces of the Fascination paper and corrugated cardboard.

The Calling Cards that come with each paper collection are perfect for layering and as seen here, for using as a subtitle or title phrase. I've tucked in a bridal pearl spray from my stash and added a few art stones to my design. Of course, everything was dabbed with gesso to blend.

The Destiny Collage piece is a knockout on its own but the Auburn Embossing Powder is perfect for providing warmth to the page.

Just a close up of both the right corner of my design.

And finally a good close-up of the chipboard pieces themselves.

Blue Fern Products used:
Paper: Serendipity Merriment, Fascination and Calling Cards
Chipboard: Rose Collage, Destiny Collage, Serendipity Words 2
Embossing Powder: Auburn
Flowers: Tranquil Roses, Memoires Blooms and Late Winter Lilies

My last project was based on this month's Sketch by Michele Singh. You can find the October Challenge HERE.  We hope you'll find time to play along!

"Yesterday"

I've been waiting to scrap this sweet photo since last November. As a Designer I am always working ahead, so I was using Christmas paper by the time I got the photo. This is sweet granddaughter Zoe with a pumpkin almost half as big as her!

I dug back for an old favorite of mine, the Ombre Collection, specifically Leslie's Dream and Shannon's Dream. I took this opportunity to use the French Ironwork chipboard to anchor my design. I doubled my photos and nested then on some Calling Card, Shannon's Dream, cheesecloth and flowers!

The Seasonal Wildflowers are a favorite of my as well, especially for outdoor scenes. Tp add color I've used a combination of Lime and Sage Embossing Powder.

The French Ironwork is a majestic piece that I could used over and over. There are so many ways you could alter this for your designs. Here I've inked the piece and then added Nutmeg, 14 Karat and Chili Powder. The Yesterday title was treated the same.

My Attic Charm flowers seemed a perfect match for my little pumpkin patch, so I used the Glitter Roses and Attic Charm Daisies to complete my design. I added a few simple textural pieces such as cheese cloth and seam binding. To draw the eye to the center of the page, I use Persimmon Imagine Ink Mist around the central design to blend everything together and then to splatter on the page.

Just a dab of gesso and I'm done with this one!

Blue Fern Studios products used:
Paper: Ombre Dreams Leslies Dreams, Shannon's Dreams and Calaling Cards
Chipboard: French Ironwork, Seasonal Wildflowers, Today, Tomorrow, Yesterday
Embossing Powder: Nutmeg, 14 Karat and Chili Powder
Stamps: Halftone
Flowers: Attic Charm Glitter Roses, Daisies
Mist: Persimmon

I think that wraps up October for me.
You'll be seeing me here next month with some more Memoires creations!
Thanks for coming by!
