Tags-with Passages Collection

Welcome back. I have something different today. I decided to make some tags for a change. I often use tags as bookmarks and I have worn them out so it was time to make some new ones!
I used the Passages Collection to make these.
This line comes with an 8 by 8 paper pack as well as journaling cards which make doing smaller projects easier. (And you don't waste paper!). I made the backgrounds on both tags the same. I used old papers from a thesaurus and a music book and tore strips for my base. I also used tissue paper to give it more texture. I then went over it with a stencil and some molding paste then colored it. I popped up the balloon with some cardboard and added some flowers.
I did the exact same with this tag. I added different chipboard centers and some blooms from Blue Fern. The bird image came from the Glory in the Garden line. :)
A few close-ups.

I used Blue Fern and Prima flowers.
I used some Seedlings in Meadow for more texture.
More Blue Fern blooms.

That is it for today. I hope all is going well for you and that you stay safe and healthy during these difficult times. All the best! :)

Destination

Hello! I am back with you today with a layout using the gorgeous new Blue Fern Studios line Passages. This is an adorable line that focuses on travel but is very versatile for any photos!

I used the paper Junket for my background. I love the soft pink color and the adorable design on it. To frame my photo I used the Frilly Frame chipboard. I always prepare my chipboard by covering it in white gesso so that the color holds better and comes out brighter. I then went over it with pink paint and then highlighted areas with some Salt Water Taffy glimmer mist from Lindy's.

I wanted to bring out the pattern on the paper a bit more so I used a stencil that had a very similar design and added molding paste. I colored the design with the same colors that I used on the chipboard frame, Salt Water Taffy, Cosmopolitan Pink, Cotton Candy and Gold/ I added a little pink pearl in the middle of each design to help bring it out more.

I made some flourishes with my Prima mould and colored them again with the same colors I used on my background. The flowers are from Prima and Blue Fern.

I used the camera chipboard from the Picture This package. Trying to stay true to my color scheme I used Ebony, Glistening Sand and It's A Girl embossing powders to color it.

My second flower cluster, again using Prima and Blue Fern flowers. I also added the adorable little Eiffel Tower charm from the World Tour package.

To maximize my chipboard I cut the camera in half placing half on either side of the photo. I also randomly added some Seedlings in Sweet Pea around my layout for added texture.

I used a piece from the Ephemera pack as my title. I also did a little stamping using the Wandering Soul stamp on my background.

I hope everything is well in your world and that you are staying safe and sane!
All the best! :)

Mixed Media Tags using Bird Waltz

Hello!  I have been wanting to create with Bird Waltz collection but the designs and colors are so beautiful I didn't know how to cut the papers!!!  So I decided to create 3 mixed media tags using this collection!

I started with Bird Waltz paper,  then used White Crackle texture paste thru a stencil then I used a stamp from Opulent Chandier Stamp collection to add to the background.

I used some fiber and Blue Fern Studios Lace 51 and Lace 26 then added a couple diecut tags,  doilies and leaves using Bird Waltz paper for these diecuts.  I also did some fussy cutting,  one of the roses from the paper collection.  For more texture and dimension I added cheesecloth,  Blue Fern Studios Seedlings-Gold Nugget and also Blue Fern Studios Glitter-Sailor's Delight.  and from my stash I added a few brown sequins.
I heat embossed the Blue Fern Studios chipboard with Taupe and I also used the sentiment stamp from Affectionately Yours
The same process for the other 2 tags are similar to the first tag.

I used Blue Fern Studios Crimson Blossoms for all 3 tags they were the perfect pop of color
I needed to tie in the colors from the Bird Waltz paper collection!

I also used Blue Fern Studios Bird Waltz Ephemera diecut cardstock Butterfly on this tag!
I Love Butterflies so this Ephemera diecut was perfect!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope I've inspired you today to create something beautiful using Blue Fern Studios Bird Waltz collection!

Key to My Heart Scrapbook Layout

Have you had a chance to create with the New Passages collection from Blue Fern Studios?  It is so fun and the designs and colors are so Gorgeous!

I created a 12x12 layout *Key to My Heart*.

I began doing lots of diecutting for all my elements and layers for this layout!
Then I did some tearing for my background design.

I painted Blue Fern Studios *Key to My Heart*and the chipboard for my photo matting with Heavy body acrylic paint.

I also used Blue Fern Studios lace for texture behind my layers.  I created flowers with my floral dies then added a few buttons!
I love adding Blue Fern Studios Seedlings and glitter for added interest to my projects!

I hope I've inspired you to make use of your metal dies to create layers!
The Passages collection is so Fun and versatile!

 Passages Traveler's Notebook

With each of Michelle Singh's new collections for Blue Fern Studios, I have a new favorite!  The Passages collection was perfect for a traveler's notebook size journal.

The colors of the collection include my favorites,

pink and soft teal.  Just gorgeous!

The ephemera from the ephemera packs and the journal cards were just the right size for the traveler's notebook dimensions of 8 1/2 by 4 1/2 inches giving me lots of options for embellishing!

As always, the Blue Fern paper folds without cracking and is a dream to work with!  I have so many ideas I can't wait to make another project with the Passages collection!

Visit me on my YouTube channel for the series of videos of the making of the journal that you can follow along with.
