May Inspiration - Joanne Bain

Hello!!

Joanne here with you today to share a couple of layouts and a tutorial with you featuring In The Mood, Deja'Vu and Tranquility collections. These have been mixed and matched and go together beautifully.

'Remember When'

The idea for this layout started with the large heart which was cut from the Blissful paper from the In The Mood collection. I cut the heart out and folded in half, I then rolled the top corner to expose the inside pattern paper, its such a pretty colour. From there I wanted to work with soft pastel colours so I chose to do a lot of fussy cutting from the Atelier patterned paper from the Deja'Vu collection.

The fussy cut pieces were then layered in amongst the layers of Blue Fern blooms to create a gorgeous main cluster. I chose to use a darker background to make the soft colours pop.

At the base of the cluster I have used the Romantic Page Dangles chipboard. This has been left raw as I feel the raw colour complimented the page.

To add softness to the page I then added frayed cheesecloth and coordinating cotton thread. The title for my page was cut from one of the page title strips that is normally cut off and discarded, but I always look because sometimes these are perfect for titles just like this one.

For my next page I created a page for my son. I am always asked do you ever scrap boys? Well yes it just depends if my son wants to play along and have his photo taken. So today I have created a layout with a tutorial so you can scrap the special boy in your life.

'Happy'

This layout features fussy cut images from the Patience patterned paper from the Tranquility collection. I think the colours and images were perfect for a boyish page and look not a flower in sight.

Throughout the cluster I have placed some of the Blue Fern Shabby Brick Bits chipboard which has been coloured lightly to coordinate with my page.

To frame the photo and add extra texture I have used some this Jute string, I love its natural colouring. I have also added a little sprinkling of seedlings to this.

Between layers I have again used a natural coloured frayed cheesecloth which I have in places coloured with coordinating watercolour paint.

How cute is that little bird? Once again I have used the patterned paper title label strips that are cut off the pattern paper. The Tranquility strips had those cute little blue butterflies.

Megan's May Inspiration

Hi Everyone!
Today I have a couple of layouts to share plus an OTP project that I had banging around in my head as soon as I saw the HomeSpun Collection, just loved these papers :)

I took an ATC sized craft coloured box and used this as my base, covering the inside and outside with patterned paper, and inked the edges in pinecone ink.

I chose quite a few of the printed chipboard elements and used these in the middle of the box to support all the fussy cut pieces I used throughout.

A birds eye view gives you a perfect view of all those layers I assembled.

Isn't that little sewing machine super cute?!

On the back of the box I used one of the 6x6 patterned pieces and layered another chipboard element on top.

Products Used

Patterned Paper:
HomeSpun
Minis, Tea Time, Crafty, Homegrown, Calling Cards

Printed Chipboard:
HomeSpun

My first of two layouts uses paper from the Wanderlust collection.  The neutral colour scheme of this collection makes it so versatile!

This photo had such lovely memories of fabulous weekend away we had and this particular day was at Mt Cook village, such a beautiful part of our country. :)
On my background I used clear gesso and then applied different sprays.  Once all the layers were dry I mixed 3D gloss gel with glitter to create a paste and applied that to my stencil.  Then I stamped randomly over my page, using white and black ink.

To glitter my chipboard title I painted it a coordinating colour and while still wet sprinkled glitter on it.  It was originally just embossed but just didnt seem to stand out, this worked much better!

To get the best out of my chipboard I used the positive and the negative pieces from the cogs set and cut apart the bits I wanted from the numbers set.  The cogs are just inked with pinecone while the rest is embossed with wheat embossing powder.

Printed Chipboard:

My last project used paper from the Remnants Collection.

On this background I also applied clear gesso and used a two toned spray, and again randomly stamped over the design.  There are a number of layers to this layout - 4! - giving it depth and a bit more interest.

Cannot get enough of those Lillies!! <3
Two layers of chipboard this time, one left black and the other embossed with powder so the two layers looked separate and didnt blend into each other.

I fussy cut around the floral cluster piece of the printed chipboard - to do this I carefully separated the layers that make up the chipboard til I was left two, making it much easier to trim around.

Sharon's May Pages!

Hi Everyone!

I can't believe that May is here already.  I am very excited to be sharing my layouts with you this month!

Here are my 3 scrapbook pages . . .

My First Layout:  Home Sweet Home

I used the Homespun collection for my first page.  Isn't it gorgeous?  I love the flip side of "Tea Time"(as seen below) and used it as the basis for my first layout:

Here is my 12 x 12 page:

I picked our family's Christmas card photo from 2016, which is one of my all-time favorite photos of our family.  This gorgeous paper compliments it beautifully, I think.

A close up:

And a different view:

I especially enjoyed embellishing the raw chipboard floral/flourish wreath with embossing powder and glitter; and using the Homespun Printed Chipboard on this page.  I mixed things up by adding some Remnants Blooms here, too.

My last two pages were made with the beautiful "In the Mood" collection.  I think this collection is perfect for romantic, dreamy, and happy photos as you will see . . .

My Second Layout:  Spring Fever

I picked a photo that I took of Anne way back in 2010 when she was enjoying a Spring day.

Some close ups to give you a better look at the details:

And a different view:

This layout was so much fun and very easy to make!  I LOVED using the gorgeous "In the Mood" collection.  The BFS glitter really jazzed it up, too!

This page was so much fun to make!  I especially loved embellishing the beautiful chipboard "Castle of Dreams."  I found it complemented a photo of me (from back in 2002) perfectly.  I actually met Cinderella at Disney World and have a funny story to tell about that experience.  I told my story in hidden journaling on the back of my page.

Here are some close ups:

And a different view:

I have to mention that both of my daughters absolutely love this page, especially the castle!

May Layouts by Jessica

"Happiness is Homemade"

Hello friends!  My first layout for the month uses the Homespun Collection.

Using the Homemade paper for my background and Home Sweet Home for matting, I used the printed chipboard under the picture and as my title.  I used Glass seedlings and Army Dust glitter along with the Crackle Texture Stamp with green mists to create the background.

To the left of the picture you will see the the heart from the XOXO Title chipboard primed with gesso then painted in 2 different colors of pink mists.  The lily on this side is from the Harvest Lillies set.

To the right of the page, you can see a piece of the Wanderlust Vine Set and flower from the Dark Tropic Lillies Set.  I used a piece of Lace #12 to decorate the bottom.

My next layout is pretty basic.  The background paper is Tweet Melody from the Amber & Apricot Collection.

I took four metal embellishments from my stash and painted them with black gesso.  Then I embossed them with Pearl embossing powder.  While the Pearl was still hot, I sprinkled Baby Pink embossing powder over it in spots to melt them together.  While they were still hot, I sprinkled some Petunia glitter over the embellishments.  For the background, I used a stencil with matte gel and Beating Heart seedlings.  You will also see the Tattered Newsprint stamping and the vertical stamping with one of the Distressed Titles stamps.

The Honey Comb Bits chipboard were embossed with Baby Pink and Coral embossing powder.

The pink lily is from the Harvest Lillies set and the little white bloom is from the Apricot Blooms set.

"Sweet and Happy"

My last project features the Remnants Collection.  The background paper is Devonshire, and I also used Bloomsbury paper and Mini Remnants paper pieces for my background work under the mists.  To make the tag under the photo, I used the Bloomsbury paper with the Tattered Newsprint Stamp.

All of the chipboard on this page is the Remnants Printed Chipboard.  Some of them I even used with gesso to create part of the background and adhered it to the paper with matte gel.  The title pieces are also part of the Printed Chipboard Pieces set with glossy adhesive medium applied to the tops.

The lilies are part of the Harvest Lillies set.

The frame behind the picture is actually from the Printed Chipboard pieces.  I embossed it with Green Ivory embossing powder and sprinkled some Dark Chocolate embossing powder on top while it was still hot.  I randomly applied Burgundy seedlings in spots around the picture.
