Hello December

Hello Blue Fern Fans.  I case you haven't noticed, December is not far away!  We are excited to share with you today another project from Dorota Kopec, our November Fan of the Month.  For this beautiful layout, Dorota has chosen the Wonderland paper from our Vintage Christmas collection as the background.  The more I look at it, the more I see.  This layout is the definition of eclectic - not following one system, but selecting and using what are considered the best elements of all systems.

The chipboard pieces used are the Stars & Berries Frame which is layered beneath the photo.
Peeking out from the floral clusters you can see holly from the Holly Sprigs set.
And lastly, the dangling snowflake is from the 3-piece set of Winter Page Dangles.

This close-up shows just what I'm talking about when I say her layout is eclectic.  Here is a gorgeous vintage photo, and the paper certainly has a vintage feel.  But she has used a frame that would be considered modern, and stenciled numbers on the background.  And there is nothing vintage about the color combination, but it all combines for a cohesive look.

In the corner, Dorota has put together a little vignette by cutting the Santa and his sleigh image from the Holiday Cards paper (Vintage Christmas II) and adding it to the design that is already on the paper.  How cute is that?

Dorota will have one more project for us this month, so be sure to check back.

November Inspirations by Babi

Hi Everyone,

Today it's my turn to share with you my new projects using the Vintage Christmas 1 and 2  collections.

I made my first layout using Holiday Cards to create a winter layout called "Discover".

I started by creating the background with watercolors, spray and stamps. Next, I added Floral Lattice Bits chipboard covered in Snow embossing powder and Garden Lattice Bits covered in Antique Gold.

Also using Antique Gold embossing powder to decorate the Wanderlust Words chipboards.

And I finished the layout with seedlings, flowers and other embellishments.

My second project is a shabby layout which also incorporates papers from the Vintage Christmas 2 collection.

I added some texture with modeling paste and stencil on Let it Snow paper.

Then, I added Ruth's Doily chipboard covered in Oatmeal embossing powder to decorate as the centerpiece. This chipboard is so beautiful, it didn't need a lot of decorations.

And finished the layout by adding flowers, branches, gesso and  French Word title covered in Antique Golden embossing powder.

I finished my post with two Christmas Cards that I made with Vintage Christmas 1 and 2 collections.

For my first card I used Twas the Night and Greeting Cards papers.

Winter Snow chipboard was covered in Antique Gold embossing powder.

I finished it with some flowers and leaves.

Twas the Night was also used on my second card.  Using Jolly paper and Deck of the Halls for the layer and flower.

Next, I added Frosty Flake covered in Antique Gold and more embellishments to finish the project.

A Little Greeting

Today's blog post features our November Fan of the Month, Dorota.  Once again, she is thinking ahead to Christmas with this pair of elegant cards.  What a beautiful way to send someone a holiday greeting,
and a piece of art, at the same time!

This card has been created by layering several designs from the Vintage Christmas Collection.  The title, A Joyful Christmas, was cut from the Holiday Cards paper which can be found in the Vintage Christmas II Collection.
The chipboard, which has been painted and glittered, is the Snow Medley.
Flowers from Christmas Blooms finish off the card.

This sweet card has layers of goodness from the Vintage Christmas Collection, including the title, which was cut from the Greeting Cards paper.  The little Santa hat is from the Cozy Christmas chipboard set.  Once again, Dorota has added flowers from the Christmas Blooms.

Be sure to check back next Wednesday when Dorota will share a stunning Christmas album.
You won't want to miss it!
