{2} Cards with Patter

Hi, and happy Friday! It's Patter here with two cards for you today using various Blue Fern Studios chipboard. Let's look at what I have created for you today:

Blessings
For this card, I actually started with the Blue Fern Studios Bits of Honey chipboard. I just love these pieces, and I have not used them yet so I really wanted to use this particular piece of chipboard for one of my creations today. I also used the Blue Fern Studios Spiritually Speaking chipboard for the card sentiment. Both pieces were painted with gesso, spritzed with mist, and dabbed with acrylic paint.

For this card, I used the Blue Fern Studios Directions and Doily Bunting chipboard pieces. I used a punch out from one the arrows in the Directions set. I used it to draw attention to the sentiment. I also added pearls to the center of the arrow so that it would match the pearls I added to the Doily Bunting chipboard.

Thanks for joining me today, and I hope you will use your Blue Fern Studios chipboard on your next card creation. Blessings,

Projects by Kerryn Lawson

Hi, Kerryn here and I would like to share some of my recent Blue Fern Studios projects with you on the blog today.

I am always looking to add new cards to my stash so that I am prepared when those last minute invitations arrive.  Chipboard adds instant impact to your card and with the variety of products in the Blue Fern Studios range there is a chipboard design to suit every occasion.

For my first card I have combined a nested circle chipboard with a piece from the ironwork accents set.  Both pieces were primed with gesso before white paint, vintage photo distress ink and perfect gold Perfect Pearls were randomly applied to suit the neutral colour palette I was working to.

For my second card I have gone to the complete opposite end of the colour scale opting to bring out some bright, happy colours.

I wanted to create depth of colour on my industrial gears chipboard so I have inked the chipboard with yellow chalk ink before applying and heat setting yellow embossing powder.  The chalk ink works quite well with embossing powder but gives you a more rustic, uneven finish than embossing ink will.

Along with the cards I have also created a layout featuring one of my absolute favourite Blue Fern Studios products, the Brigitte butterfly.

On this occasion I wanted to replicate the distressed feel from the papers with the treatment of both the butterfly and flourish chipboard pieces.  To do this I have used paint in a number of colours but as the layers have been built up the paint was added randomly rather than to the entire piece.  Once the paint had dried, the chipboard was gently sanded to expose both the different paint layers and the raw chipboard.
Perfect gold Perfect Pearls was added to the centre of the butterfly wings to add a touch of contrast to the blue/green and white.

Moments in Life with Camilla

Hi everybody! Camilla here with a new layout and a card made with fabulous chipboards from Blue Fern Studios.

For my layout I used the gorgeous Shabby Layered Frame to frame a photo of my newest tiny niece, Mira. I just love how it turned out. I also used the Fancy Fob Watch to get a time dimension to the layout. The chipboards are dabbed with quite a lot of white gesso to get some texture.

Some close-ups:

The card is made for a friend. She is soon attending a wedding and wanted me to create a card. I wanted the card to be elegant and one of the hearts from the Blue Fern Studios Heart Set was perfect as a centre of the card. I kept it plain and raw - suited for the grey tones of the card.

This is it from me this month, but I hope you stop by in a few days to check out the projects from my design team friends here at Blue Fern Studios!

Camilla

Pages and Mood Board from Kasia

Hello guys! Kasia Krzymińska here to share with you some of my works made with gorgeous Blue Fern Studios chipboards.

This time I got for you layout, art-journal page and my mini mood board. Let's start with layout. I used b&w photograph of my dear Mom and her friend in the garden when they were very young girls. My Mom is very special to me, she is amazingly talented woman with great sense of humor which I adore. That is why I chose the word "Joy" as a title.

Next page I want to share with you was made in my new art-journal where I decided to collect all memories from ProzArt. It is very simple and mixed-media. Only the background and this cute chipboard frame. I covered it with gesso and ArtAnthology Sorbet paint - Frost so it's shining.

And here is my mini August mood board. The color combo that I found very inspiring this month is red and teal. Hope you like it too. I used Quatrefoil Panel to make some background.
