 Passages Traveler's Notebook

With each of Michelle Singh's new collections for Blue Fern Studios, I have a new favorite!  The Passages collection was perfect for a traveler's notebook size journal.

The colors of the collection include my favorites,

pink and soft teal.  Just gorgeous!

The ephemera from the ephemera packs and the journal cards were just the right size for the traveler's notebook dimensions of 8 1/2 by 4 1/2 inches giving me lots of options for embellishing!

As always, the Blue Fern paper folds without cracking and is a dream to work with!  I have so many ideas I can't wait to make another project with the Passages collection!

Visit me on my YouTube channel for the series of videos of the making of the journal that you can follow along with.

Crazy Cousins

Hi there! I have a layout today which took me a little outside of my comfort zone. I went with a bunch of colors for this zany photo I took of my grandkids a few years ago.

I used the Happy Accident 2 paper line from Blue Fern Studios.
I used the large Circle Panel chipboard and cut a strip of circles from it. I used a variety of embossing powders and heat embossed them on then followed it with some random stamping with the Tattered Newsprint stamp. I used some seedlings in Meadow  and Pink Topaz inside the circles to add more fun to the page.
I used some of the Printed chipboard that came with this line. Amusing was the perfect word to describe the photo. I also used a frame from the printed chipboard and used it behind my photo.
I used 49 & Market blooms in Tutti Frutti which were the perfect match for the embossing colors I used.
The chipboard title Crazy Cousins was absolutely perfect for this photo which showcases the crazy cousins in our family. I love how Blue Fern has so many awesome titles to choose from!
I used the Scripted Medley stamp to add some extra interest on my background.
You can see the printed chipboard frame here as well as some extra texture on my background achieved by using tissue paper, drywall tape and a stencil to add extra texture to my background.

Have an awesome day!

Every Moment Matters Scrapbook Layout using Remnants collection

Hey Blue Fern Fans it's Phyllis again with a 12x12 scrapbook layout!  I used papers from the beautiful Remnants collection!

I did alittle of everything on this layout from diecutting,  mixed media,  stenciling,  heat embossing and fussing cutting.

I gave the background sheet a nice coat of clear gesso then I used white sand texture paste thru a stencil and sprinkled embossing powders Taupe & Goldilocks in various around the white sand.  I heat embossed it and then added touches of acrylic paint in a dark lavender to give it some depth.

I glued the different sizes of flowers together and I also did some fussy cutting of a flower.
I used some cheesecloth and then started to play with my design.

I heat embossed the Daisy Oval Frame with Goldilocks and Nutmeg.

I added a Butterfly and Every Moment Matters from the chipboard sticker sheet,  I love these they add a nice dimension to your project!
I also added some of Blue Fern Studios Flowers for a pop of color!
I added some Gold beads to the diecut flowers and added sprinkles of Mauve and Golden Nugget seedlings,  small & large sequins and art stones along my design,  these are some of my favorite finishing touches I love to add to any project!

To complete this layout I did some flicks of white acrylic paint around the entire layout.

I will going Live on Facebook to recreate a similar layout using Remnants collection, I hope to see you there!  Below is a link to my event!  I hope to see you there,  this is Free!  Grab your favorite snack and drink or create with me!

Shabby Banner with Passages

Hello Blue Fern Fans,  it's Phyllis here with a beautiful Shabby Banner using the Gorgeous Passages collection!  This time I used papers from the 8x8 collection.

I cut out 1 Pendant banner with Intercontinental paper,  one fishtail banner with Notes from Abroad and the last Pendant banner I cut out used from the back of Notes from Abroad paper.  I punched holes where I wanted my lace to go so this could be hung on a wall.  I also punched holes on the bottom so I could hang tassels to give it a fun feature.

I did lots of diecutting for my flowers,  leaves,  tags, oval shape and doily shape.  I used cheesecloth and fiber for more texture.

Another fun embellishment to add to your projects is buttons,  they add a nice texture and finishing touch to any project.  I also used the Itinerary sheet to each banner piece.
Using the Intercontinental sheet I fussy cut out a couple hot air balloons and also a couple of the beautiful butterflies.

So get your metal diecuts out and have fun creating a beautiful banner using the Gorgeous Passages collection!  Be sure to share your projects at Blue Fern Fanatics on Facebook we'd love to see your projects!

Thank you for stopping by!
Happy Creating!!!

Shabby Layout using Passages Collection

Hello Blue Fern Fans,  Phyllis here to share my first DT project using the New Gorgeous and fun Passages collection!  I did alot of diecutting for my layering on this layout.

I started my background stamping with Mayhem Textures & Scripted Medley on Itinterary paper then used texture paste thru a stencil from Finnabair.  Before the texture paste dried I sprinkled Dusty Rose and Solar Flare Glitter.

For the flowers I had some diecuts and layered some of the flowers for dimension.   I also have some doily diecuts for layering.  I used papers from Panorama,  Travelgue,  Inter Continental,  Homeward Bound and Bucket List.

I also cut out some tags and leaves using dies for added layers.  Once I had all my diecutting finished I started laying out my design.  I did some photo matting

I did some fussy cutting from Panorama paper and for the flowers I added buttons for the center.

I cut the chipboard in half and used that to frame my photo.  I also used some twine and Lace for added texture.

For the finishing touch on my layout I added Dusty Rose and Solar Flare glitter and Mauve seedlings along with art stones.

I love these papers from Passages,  they're so fun,  the designs and colors are gorgeous!
I hope you have a chance to grab this paper collection soon!
Thank you for stopping by!
Happy Creating!
