Valentine inspiration by Henriëtte

Hi, my name is Henriëtte van Mierlo, I'm 49 years. I live in The Netherlands with
my husband Robert and my 17 year old daughter Emma.
I work parttime in financial administration and in my sparetime I love to craft,
especially card making.
I’ve been making cards for many years, tried different styles but nowadays they are
more shabby chic/vintage.
Besides card making I also like mixed media projects, flower making (foamiran, fabrics, paper),
DIY projects, working with polymer clay and altering art.
When I'm not crafting I love reading books and I try to go to the gym twice a week.
Well, never a dull moment and often not enough hours in the day.

Here are the links to my blog, facebook, pinterest, instragram and you tube channel.

I'm very excited to be on the Blue fern Studios design team and looking forward to share my creativity with you.

The first project I like to share is in style with today's occasion Valentine's day. 💘

I altered this heart shaped box using the beautiful Heartland papers.

First I cut all the paper pieces and glue them on, covering the box with the papers.

Then I decorated the box and lid with red ribbon, lace trim, BFS flowers and chipboard pieces.
I embossed the "love letters" chipboard with BFS "oatmeal" embossing powder.

The chipboard heart and envelope are colored with inks.

Products Used

Patterned Paper:
Heartland - All you need, Love notes and Valentine party

Chipboard:
Love letters
Heart set
Remnants self-adhesive chipboard shapes

Embossing Powder:
Oatmeal

Flowers:
Garden Blooms
BFS flowers

Lace:
Red ribbon
Braided trim

I hope you like my first project. Thanks for stopping by!
I appreciate your comments very much.

Hugs, Henriëtte.

Dream Big Decor Panel

Hello everyone, my name is Aida Haron from Singapore and let me say this is such an huge thrill, a real honor to be with a team of talented Creatives. February marks the first time I'm posting for the Design Team at Blue Fern Studios ..... can you tell how excited I am ?

Married to a very patient husband, we have 2 girls (26 and 21 years) and currently I conduct workshops for Art Journals in sunny Singapore. My journey in the crafting industry has taken many turns from card making, scrapping to mixed media, projects displayed at Creativation ...... all the phases have been amazing, I'm grateful and feel very lucky for the tremendous creative opportunities.

My online homes are a blog Aida Haron, Art Journal and on Instagram I am @aidaville.

With our girls being older older, it means we have fewer photos and scrapbooking in the physical sense has changed. Now I mostly Art Journal and create decor panels for display around the home or as gifts for special occasions. Today, I am sharing this Dream Big decorative 8 x 10" canvas panel layered with gorgeous Blue Fern Studios products.

The supplies used :
Happy Accident 2 Grubby patterned paper
Chipboards : Dream Big, Boston Lattice, Willow Flower
Assorted Blue Fern Studio Flowers and Lace.

The Dream Big chipboard was treated with white gesso, and heat embossed with a cream and glitter powder. Once cool to touch, lightly rub in a layer of yellow or orchre crayon in little areas on the words to deepen the dimension.

The base of this project is a 8 x 10" flat back canvas painted a pale blue using acrylic paints. The Grubby patterned paper has an industrial design making it a good contrast to the other more feminine elements like flourishes and flowers.
The Boston Lattice chipboard was given a base coat of white gesso and grit paste for texture. Once dry, it was painted with a grey/blue acrylic paint. I love how the grit paste created the shabby feel !
For the Willow Flower chipboard, I pressed pale Oxide inks on to the surface for colour. When you are in a hurry, this is a no mess, easy option for colouring chipboards.
To match the patterned paper Grubby Happy Accident 2 and the blue of the Lattice chipboard, I chose a mix of light orange, yellow and cream flowers.
Thank you for stopping by to spend a few moments with me. I hope this Dream Big Decor Panel will inspire you to create with Blue Fern Studios.

Happy Crafting !

First Design Team project by Phoebe Tonosaki

Hello all, it is my greatest pleasure to be here with you all.

My name is Phoebe Tonosaki.
I am from Hong Kong,
I get married with a Japanese at 2004 and moved to Japan since then.

I have always loved paper crafting and any creative activities.
I started my art journey a few years ago to explore myself and also
challenge to things that I was not able to when I was young.

I started off with altered arts and then soon fell in love with scrapbooking as well.
Beautiful papers, bright colorful flowers and shapes of chipboards stimulate my
imagination a great deal and I get comfort and peace when creating them.
Blue Fern Studios has always been my first choice when doing mixed media layout.
The designs are always the most mesmerizing ,
and the paper quality is always on the top rank especially because I love to do heavy layering.

I am thrilled to be able to on the design team 2019!
Hoping to share many inspiring and interesting projects with you all !

So here please let me share my first project !
Since this is the first time many of you get to know me.
I want to show you some of myself !

This is me !  a fun photo taken with snap chat :D

I chose Purple and Green as the main colors cos they are my favorite colors.

I started with using Stamp - Home Accents to make subtle and brief pattern on random area. I used   "Spring Parade" as the base, matching up with chipboard Jeweled Page Baubles which embossed with embossing powder "Pansy", then a piece fm the self adhesive printed chipboard shapes "Artisan Collections Remnants"to create the layers.

Then I used multiple Blue Fern Studios flowers in purple and mint green to add more elements to the whole piece.

As I aim for simple beauty for this layout,
I only added very briefly sprays around the two areas to link up all the colors.

I hope you like my first work and looking forward to hear fm you !
Greetings fm Japan !
