Anyways, enough with the sappy stuff. Let's get to the video shall we?!

I have a video up, using the new Santuary Paper Collection as well as some beautiful chipboard. This particular paper is called Meadows in Time. It is soft, has lots of beautiful images and prints to feast your eyes on and getting your creativity moving!

'Mommy's Boy' by Lisa Griffith

Hello Blue Fern Studio friends....

I hope everyone is having fun getting ready for the holidays!
This will be my last blog post for Blue Fern Studios...I was so pleased to work with
so many beautiful products alongside a super talented group of ladies!
Thank you so very much for the amazing opportunity of being on this team,
I have enjoyed it so much.

'Mommy's Boy'

Here I started with the paper 'Bountiful' and did a lot of masking with gesso and then layered on washi tape, paints, gems, silver micro beads, flowers and stamping.

My son and I get our portrait taken together every Christmas, it's our tradition since he was a baby,
and I love to see how much he changes year to year. This title chipboard piece
'Mommy's Boy' was so perfect for this photo! I painted it white and then
embossed it lightly with silver embossing powder.

I also used a piece called 'Circle Flourish' and few 'Shabby Flakes'
which I treated the same way as the title piece.

My second project is a tag I created with a winter theme.

Here I have used 'Meadows of Time' as my base, and layered on some lace,
flowers and silver glass glitter.

I really love the 'Shabby Flakes' chipboards, they have made it on to almost every winter project
I've done lately :) Here I tucked a few into my flower cluster. I painted white and then added white glitter to a piece of the 'Let it Snow' set.

My last project is a layout I created using the beautiful sketch for December.

I loved the vertical lines in the sketch. You still have time to enter the challenge this month....

I used the paper 'Birdsong Melody' as my base and then added paints, flowers,
silver and black trims and pieces of the 'Shabby Flakes' and 'Holiday Vine'.

I hope I have inspired you a little today..

Take care,
 Lisa Griffith

Creations with {Patter}

Hello everyone. Patter here today to share my December creations with you. I have two layouts and a card to share with you today. Let's get started.

Trust
This layout is one I did for my chosen word for 2105. My word for next year is 'trust'. I used the Blue Fern Studios Montage collection for this 8 1/2 x 11 page.

The Chicken Wire Panel chipboard piece I covered in texture paste followed by some colored mist. I also only used a portion of this chipboard piece. It comes as a 12x12 piece but is wonderful to cut down to any size you need.
Papers: Blue Fern Studios Montage Invitation and Bouquet
Blue Fern Studios chipboard: Chicken Wire Panel

Joy
For the background of this card, I embossed and then sanded the Sanctuary Conservatory paper.

For the sentiment, I used the Chunky Words chipboard and covered it in texture paste.

Smile
If you remember some of my previous layouts, this is the precious baby boy I have been scrapping. Well, that precious boy is now almost one. I cannot believe it! I wanted to give the family more scrapbook pages for their album, so this is the 8 1/2 x 11 page I created for them. I used the newest Blue Fern Studios December sketch, and I also used the newest BFS papers called Sanctuary.

To color the Poppies Collage chipboard, I covered the chipboard in a thick layer of gesso then embossed with various embossing powder colors.

Sanctuary Projects with Rae

Hello all. It's Rae, sharing my last projects for BFS! It's been an exciting year for me, and I feel so honored to to have been a part of this team! I made all of these projects with the Sanctuary paper collection.

"Remember" Layout

This is my layout that I made for the December Sketch Challenge. You still have time to play along!

I am absolutely obsessed with cemetery statues. I took these pics a few months ago at a huge cemetery here in Denver, and I knew they would be perfect for the Sanctuary papers!

Here's a closeup of two pieces of chipboard that I layered (the ornate frame and a piece of the small Roman clock set). On the ornate frame, I used embossing powders and chalk ink to get that effect. I pressed my black archival ink pad on the clock piece, and used some gold paint.

Untitled Layout

I love all the rich colors in Sanctuary collection and how they are paired with such soft complimentary colors, so I wanted to play with all of them for this layout.

Here's a close up of the small spring iris piece. I treated it with a heavy layer of gesso, then randomly sprinkled clear embossing powder over it, and dried it with a heat gun. Once dry, I used some acrylic glaze paints and water to get this effect.

You can also see the Boston lattice- nothing fancy there- just a coat of gesso!

I used some of the Bohemian flowers from that set under the flower cluster, along with a key from the vintage key set. I used a platinum embossing powder and once it was hot, I pour small amounts of black embossing powder over it, so it only slightly melded on to the platinum.

I used the same technique on the manor hinges.

"Smile" Card

For this card, I used the Bordeaux Layered Frame. I traced the bottom piece on to the Conservatory paper, then adhered it to the chipboard, and filed the edges for a clean look.

In this close up, you can see the top layer of the frame- I used several colors of embossing powders, layering them to achieve this effect.

I did the same thing with the "Smile" title.

I hope you enjoyed taking a peek at my projects today, and this past year!

Congrats to the new Blue Fern Studios design team- it's going to be an amazing year!

"Happy Life" Video Education Team: Kelly

Hello everyone!
Kelly here.
Today marks my final post here on the Blue Fern Studios team..
it truly has been a wonderful two years here at BFS. I am ever so grateful to Leslie for giving me the opportunity to create with the most beautiful chipboard designs (and papers, too!) on the market. It really has been wonderful watching this company grow and grow, really incredible!
I will always be a proud supporter of Blue Fern and am excited to see what happens next :)

SO - here is my layout I created, using the December sketch (Still time to play along!)

"Happy Life"

Are you thinking what I'm thinking?? Yes, he is INDEED the cutest. Ever. Ha ha!! But no really, my little guy truly lights up our lives..he is so smiley, easy going, and just all around a shining star. I love him so much!
Sorry, enough gushing!

True to the sketch, I wanted a grungy, fun, layered look behind the photos. I achieved this by layering the Notebook Edges and Printer's Bits, along with a few little scraps, and some flowers and metals  as well.

yes, glitter and flowers, on a boy page! Nothing wrong with that, right?

Have a look at the video:

Again, thank you for your love and support here at Blue Fern!!

Happy & Thankful- By Keren Tamir

Keren here for my last post for 2014. What a great year it has been!! It was truly an amazing journey.
I have two layouts featuring the Sanctuary collection and a couple of frames and word chipboard pieces.

"Happy"

 Sanctuary "Meadows of Time" paper.

I used the seaside frame which I painted in two tones of distress paint.

As a title, I used the word Happy from the set: happy, laughter, smile.

<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>

"Thankful"

Sanctuary "Conservatory" paper.

I'm really happy about this fall layout of my family because I used the new round butterfly frame to frame the photo. The butterfly frame was designed by ME!!! for Blue Fern Studios. Visit the wholesale store to see some more of my designs.
Its really cool to use one of my own designs and I can't wait to see what my other DT members do with them.

The frame was painted in golden acrylic paint and then stamped with brown ink to create a textured pattern.

I used the Thankful chipboard as a title.

Thank you so much for visiting the Blue Fern Studios Blog!!
Have a wonderful day!!
