Christmas Window Album

Hi everyone! I'm pleased to be asked to post this little album I created using the Vintage Christmas 1&2 collections. I love making small books and albums with lots of layering and details!

I made a window in the cover using a frame die-cut and adding acetate to add depth. I placed a Christmas tree in the center of the window to create a picture window feel. I cut random flowers from the papers to embellish throughout the album.

The first page opens up to the tree and the window decorated for the holidays!

This collection has so many beautiful images! Since I love to fussy cut it was perfect for this project.

I added chipboard pieces that I painted to match the papers.

I love putting tuck spots here and there to add little journal cards and extra photos to the pages.

I hope you enjoyed my little book as much as I did making it!
Thanks for stopping by the blog today!

At Christmas, All Roads Lead Home

For a jolly Christmas in July I thought I would feature this paper with Santa and his wheels! It is one of my favorite Christmas papers ever. It came from the Vintage Christmas line and is called Jolly!

I made flags out of a sheet called Holiday Treats. The lace half circle was cut from #5 and lightly stamped with ink.

The white lace flower I cut from #2 and the green clovers were cut from #6 and dyed green. The Christmas blooms completed that corner.

I added the "Home Sweet Home" chipboard plaque as well as the friends circle, both from the Homespun line. The alphabets, small trees and star came from my stash. I used teal paint to edge various items.

Thanks for taking a look!
Blessings, Bonnie

Christmas in July Gift Tags - by Vicky Alberto

I am sharing a few "Christmas in July" gift tags made with Blue Fern's Homespun collection.  This was a fun challenge to use an unrelated collection and turn it into a few festive looking oversized gift tags.

On the first tag, I used "Barb's Medallion" chipboard, painted it white and topped it with diamond dust glass - for a chilly look.  I then added a round adhesive shape from the Homespun collection and surrounded it with Blue Fern blooms... again adding diamond dust to the white flowers. The white ribbon is also from Blue Fern.

On the second tag I used some gorgeous Blue Fern white lace, white flowers and a coordinating Homespun adhesive shape.  The red ribbon is also from Blue Fern... so I dug into my stash to find a few red blooms to complement the papers and the pretty ribbon, to add contrast to the fantastic white flowers and beautiful lace.

Thanks as always for stopping by to take a peek today!

Christmas in July- Dear Santa

Hello and welcome to something different, Summer in July here at Blue Fern Studios! For my part I did a Christmas layout.
For Dear Santa I used the beautiful Vintage Christmas and Vintage Christmas 2. paper lines. I love theses papers as they have so many pretty graphics to fussy cut and they use traditional Christmas colors.
I used a mask on my background from Fabrika Decoru to imitate falling snow. Sadly you can't really see it in this photo. I used number 2 lace and sprayed it with gold paint. I also used the Christmas Collage Stamp to stamp little golds bursts across the page. I heat embossed the bursts with Glistening Sand. A bloom from Prima and two small white roses from the Heartland Collection added a nice touch.
I fussy cut some elements from the papers and popped them up for added dimension.
I used the ornate wreath chipboard to frame my photo and heat embossed it with Glistening Sand and Garnet. I wanted to stay with the colors on my page. I also heat embossed some drywall tape for added dimension on my page.
Another fussy cut character.
My last close-up for today.
Hope you enjoyed!
All the best!

Happy Accident

There's no lace or bows on this page but you can bet your buttons its Blue Fern! I started with a sheet of Happy Accident called Balmoral then painted it with turquoise, purple, and spatters of white.

The dials and clocks are a stamp called Widget.

I painted the chipboard, called the Ornate Corner Flourish, blue and love how it frames the photos!

I also used some copper ink, green ink and orange paint, as well as a paintbrush, from my stash.

I hope you feel the happiness in this fun layout!

Blessings, Bonnie

Wild & Free Layout - by Vicky Alberto

Sharing a layout created with Blue Fern's Wanderlust and Happy Accident collections.  This is a snapshot of the lakehouse before our renovations begin. Lots of layers and distressing and chipboard on this project!

Here is a close-up of A Spring Day chipboard bird (coated with oatmeal powder), Happy Accident ephemera and various Blue Fern blooms.

On this close-up, more of A Spring Day chipboard... the bird coated with oatmeal powder and the rest inked. All topped with a variety of Blue Fern blooms. There is also a Classic Mini Chipboard Frame that I distress inked and randomly glued oatmeal powder for a rustic look.
