Altered bag with Radiance

Hi everyone! Henriëtte here. Today I'll be sharing another project I've made
using the Radiance collection.

I've altered a simple brown paper bag, decorated it with flowers, lace and chipboard and
also added a big tag.

Before I started decorating the bag I painted the edges with a layer of white gesso and
flipped the bottom to create a pocket.
I cut the Radiance papers to size and glue them on the bag.
This time I used the peach colored papers from the collection.
 They are so beautiful!

On the edge of the pocket I glued a piece of gorgeous lace and added a few matching flowers.
There is also a Radiant charm.

On the top of the bag I glued a big chipboard. It's the ornate florisch corner which I heat embossed with oatmeal embossing powder.

Then I made a big tag with a lovely flower ephemera center piece and
a flower charm.

The backside of the bag is also decorated with the Radiance papers.

How a simple brown paper bag can turn into a beautiful gift bag!

Sunshine

Since I feel so blessed to be an American, I couldn't help but wrangle up a patriotic layout for this post.  Of course, having a cute grandson and great products from Blue Fern made this a crafting triumph. I started with a background paper from Wanderlust Collection called Mountain View.

I chose my title from Radiance and sprayed it with blue glitter spray ink.

I also used a chipboard heart shape from Heart Love by Karen Tamira. I added the chipboard butterfly, inked blue and red. The window boxes I cut from a sheet of Amber and Apricot paper called Chapters. I made shutters from a red wood paper from my stash as well as baby breath inked blue and red. The banners, bees, and stars were also from my stash.

Thanks for the peek!
Blessings, Bonnie

Radiance collection layout - by Vicky Alberto

I am sharing a layout created with the new Radiance collection from Blue Fern.  These papers and blooms are truly gorgeous.  This collection also features some pretty silver charms and lace too!  I accented with bling and a doily from my stash to pull everything together for a vintage look.  For the title I even used an adhesive shape from the Remnants collection... that just fit perfectly on here.

On the close-up you can see the cute butterfly charm, Radiance and Apricot collection blooms, Mina's border chipboard (randomly distressed inked it) and some of that gorgeous vintage green lace.

Thanks for taking a peek at my project today!

Exploding box with the Radiance collection

Hi, Henriëtte here today sharing my first project with the new "Radiance" collection.
I love this collection, it's so cheerful with beautiful summer colors.
The matching flowers and chipboards are perfect for my project: an exploding box.

The box is made from white cardstock.
I covered all the sides with the Radiance patterned papers.

On the lid I also glued a paper doily, 3 flowers, a ephemera piece and
2 chipboard butterflies.
I heat embossed the chipboard butterflies with starry night blue embossing powder.
I thought they were a bit to blue so I added another layer of white embossing powder.
After doing that they were soft blue and matching the papers very well.

I decorated the inside with more ephemera and "blushing blooms" chipboards.

I made the centerpiece by cutting a styrofoam ball in half and glueing white lace around the base.
I added lots of pink and white flowers and two heat embossed butterflies.
It looks like they are flying.
I took a small strip of acetate and bent the top and bottom so I could
glue it on the butterfly and on the styrofoam ball between the flowers.
From a distance you cannot see the acetate strips.

It's a very bright and sunny exploding box.
I hope you like it also.

My Grandma Blanche and Me

Greetings fellow paper crafters! When I look for paper and supplies to surround my special photos I need those things to rise to that occasion. Our photos are part of our history, a legacy that lives on when we are gone. I am so proud to be able to share this beautiful wedding photo of my Grandma Blanche and one of me.

When the picture of me was taken at a Mothers Day Tea, I had no idea it was such a similar pose to that of my grandmothers when she was thirty years younger than I was at that time. This paper from the Remnants Collection called Devonshire, is the most beautiful match.

I lightly painted the round chipboard frame, Mendala, white. I used the gorgeous Ivory Bridal Lace No. 1 to frame my subject as well.

I added pink with Lace No. 15, a round chipboard with a house decoration from the Homespun collection, and a fussy cut bottle from the Attic Charm Collection.

My journaling fit perfectly on the chipboard from Happy Accident.

I added a few things from my stash; the pink flower, buttons and bees. I love using Blue Fern products because they are always high quality and do my most favorite photos and memories justice.

Blessings,  Bonnie

Smile using the new Radiance Collection

It feels wonderful to be back this month. I am still suffering from a few complications of the surgery most notably pain. Never the less I will do everything I can to be here! My first project since my return is this layout using the new Radiance Collection.
This layout is called smile. This collection is full of brilliant pinks, yellows and blues. I used Luminosity and  Effervescence as my main page. I cut the Luminosity paper and rolled it into pleats. Then I used Effervescence to fill in the space.
I applied a coat of clear gesso on my background to prepare it for any mediums I might use. Then used a Prima stencil to add the bubbles. I wanted to carry the bubble theme from the photo into the layout. I colored the bubbles lightly with Shimmery Goodness mixed with a Iced Pear Gelato. You can also see here a chipboard butterfly from the PetiteFrame and Butterfly set and embossed it with the Bubblegum pink embossing powder.
I took a small frame from the chipboard collection and cut it in half to make it work more. I heat embossed it with the new Radiance Gold embossing powder. I then used some Lillies from the Radiant Blooms collection and a bright pink bloom from the Dark Tropic Lilly Collection and added them on each side with another small bloom from the set to finish it off. I used the new Scripted Medley Stamp for my background. I love this stamp!!
Another close-up of the blooms and another tiny butterfly embossed in Radiance Pink embossing powder.
Last photo is of my title. I used an Ephemera circle with the sentiment smile on it! Worked perfectly for me! Believe it or not this took me quite awhile as I am struggling with the simple things like sitting using my arms, reaching ,name it but  I shall not give up. I will do my best to continue to be here for you every month!
All the very Best! )

Using up scraps: gift card holders

Hi, after finishing a project I have a lot of paper scraps left and these gift card holders are a
nice way to use up the left over paper scraps.

I used paper scraps from one of my favorite Blue Fern Studios collections "Remnants".
I found the idea and a tutorial on how to make these card holders here.

I made two card holders with pockets for the gift cards and two tags
to write a message on.

I embellished the front with flowers, chipboard and cut outs from the Remnants collection.

Products used:

Remnants papers
Remnants adhesive shapes
Blue Fern Studio Flowers
Chipboard classic mini frame

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs, Henriëtte.
